The New Obama Internet
April 6th, 2009 at 8:33 am by Preston Taylor HolmesIf you were wondering how the Obamaniacs were going to take down the internet, blogosphere and destroy the freedom of information flow that we enjoy, just look at Senate bills No. 773 and 778, which will allow Rahm, Axelrod and the Obamessiah himself to see what you’ve been up to, in the name of national security. If they don’t like it, you’re shut down (or worse).
This will directly impact all of us who work in I.T., and will directly impact your costs, for starters. Per Karl…
This would immediately make part of what I do – selling spam-interdiction software to state and local public safety organizations such as police departments – unlawful unless I went through whatever “process” the government sets forth.
Got that? As a guy who has been writing spam filtering software for more than a decade, as the guy who first offered it to his ISP customers back in the 1990s as part of our service to every user, what I did in the 1990s would be made illegal (since we had literally thousands of accounts billed to a government agency of one form or another) and my provision and support of that software (“Spamblock-Sys”) would be unlawful going forward unless I submitted to whatever licensing criteria the government set forth in the future.
Might I be willing to submit to that? Maybe. Will it dramatically increase the cost of that software? Absolutely. Who’s going to pay for it? You are, in higher taxes.
Having to register yourself and your network is the fun part. The rest of it is pure Orwell, and pure Commie, just like our Executive Branch.
Finally, there is a provision within this draft allowing The President to order disconnection of any “critically important” infrastructure – but it does not define what that is, once again, granting effective plenary authority to The President to silence communications irrespective of Constitutional protections regarding Free Speech.
First Amendment?
What First Amendment?
The First Amendment is first for a reason – without Freedom of The Press, which happens to fundamentally include the right to freely communicate between ourselves, there is no means by which corruption and evil can be effectively exposed.
The Second Amendment is second for a reason – if The First Amendment falls, you’re going to need The Second Amendment, and fast.
I wonder if we’ll defend the Second Amendment as citizens of The United States if we won’t defend The First!
As with the rest of these bullshit bills that have been rushed through congress since January, there is plenty of wiggle room so that these bastards can use these laws to take away pretty much whatever freedoms they deem necessary for “national security” or to “protect the environment”. Have you people not seen enough of this yet to see where this is headed?
Their formula is simple. Throw as much insane freedom-robbing legislation and spending at us as quickly as possible so that we can’t possibly keep up (at least those of us who actually have jobs). This means that most of it will get through and that we will eventually burn out from repeatedly contacting our legislators, who generally ignore us anyway. They count on legislative fatigue to crush our resolve so that they can steamroll us with greater ease.
We have to fight every single one of these bills, no matter what, otherwise, this country is done.

I also like how it is sold as a way to prevent cyber “Katrinas”. Because, terrorism has such a racist ring to it.

the speed, the seemingly endless money supply and the morons at all levels of government that are in the tank for obama, not to mention the ass kissing media leads a lot of people to believe that there has be a lot of behind the scenes activity. it may sound like a lot of corny conspiracy thinking, but just check out who belongs to a group like the BILDERBERGS, david rockefeller, george soros, henry kissenger, bill clinton, hillary clinton and timothy geithner to name a few. then check out there political beliefs. there are enough people that belong from all parts of the world that control or influence all levels of government, industry, military and media to get who they want into powerful political positions. they have everything they need, time, money and the means.
