Fortify our borders and put in place definitive SSN matching as a rerequisite for hiring, starting a bank account, etc. No more fun and games and tar and feathers to politicians and pundits who try to denigrate this as "racism!" I had a vaccination against swine flu many years ago for an outbreak that didn't happen, and this vaccine was found to be dangerous, and in fact many of us who got the shot had scary effects that were like a paralysis coming on. Mexico City has all but shut down over this and until any kind of serum is developed (if that's possible) it will impact the rest of the world. Swine flu IS racist; it targets the HUMAN race. Science won for a while. This one might be different though. This is not a seasonal flu that has sprung up. Some comparisons are being made to the 1918 epidemic that killed ~20-40 million people. If we've got airborne, human-to-human transmission of a new flu where there are already dozens of reported dead and thousands of confirmed cases then we could be looking at something that has not been experienced for quite some time. They wouldn't be gearing up for this big worldwide announcement if there was not the potential of a serious threat.
