Flood Buyouts: Is This What We’ve Come To?

Good God people! I am sorry that you lost your home and I am sure it must be an absolutely horrible thing to go through. But why on Earth do you feel that the Federal Government should buy you out? Why on Earth would you WANT the Federal Government bail you out?
Can we divide the country up into idiots and non-idiots? That way, those of us who do not wish to associate with idiots can live in peace.
I’m speechless. I simply want to scream.

You can’t tell from the article if the folks in ND have flood insurance (as any intelligent person who builds in a flood plain would) and they are simply waiting for a settlement OR are they wanting a flat-out government bailout of their possible stupidity?

I was surfing this afternoon and happened across the following post at Flopping Aces. It’s a link to a cartoon made in 1948 by Harding College about freedom in America. I was absolutely floored at how prescient it was as to what has gone on in this country over the last 50 years. I agreed with the post author, this probably will be the best 9:27 you spend on the internet today!
