We needed someone to take the heat of President Pyrite before those geological sleuths in the old media assayed his ass for snubbing them in favor of the Huffington Post while Rahm Emanuel winked and laughed in their pasty, white faces.
All those dead people in Iran gunned down for listening to closely to the codewords in the Muslim Moses’ speech thinking that he was going to save them, or at least stand up for them and the biggest story is a nobody governor.
But this is important. It’s just sex, people. Isn’t that what we always hear? Sex between consenting adults.
We know he has to be a Republican because all these Democrats would have banned themselves from posting on their own websites if he was one of them.
You can’t report on Edwards’ affair until he’s cornered in a hotel lobby. Not even then. Can’t investigate Obama’s girlfriend at all. These are guys that were running for President. You think someone can hide smoking and have no one report on it for 8 months hasn’t bought silence on worse issues than that?
Hell, Clinton ran for President and no one ever asked her how she handled her husband cheating on her and staying married to him.
Sanford’s a nobody. Rumored to be thinking about doing something 3 years from now.
It’s all about power and people on the Right need to quit playing games and destroy these people when you get the chance because they are sure as hell going to do it to you.

Well you can thank this fifty year old ass hole for handing the dems the bullets! Sanford is screwing over the party and it’s ability to fight back. By acting like a kid, dissappearing for a weekend at such a critical time when energy and health care legislation is being brought up by the house democrats.

Amen brother. I will no longer listen to the likes of Joe Scarborough, and Gallagher is on probation after sticking up for president wimpy last week.
This is serious damage they are doing to our country, & we must fight to win.

Sanford is not a nobody. He was clearly a top GOP candidate for president in 2012 and a major figure today in his refusal of TARP funds. This is a real story. The other 23 3/4 hours of the day should be spent discussing US history in re: socialism, but that is another thing.

That screenshot says it all. It looks like Journolist and Townhouse. Everybody gets the same talking points and everybody is singing from the same hymn.
Unfortunately, as annika alluded to, I think a few so-called Right commentators get the blast message as well.
By the high standard established by Democrats for falling on one’s sword for moral failings, Sanford should remain until the end of his second term. After all, he wasn’t paying $4,000 call girls or giving Homeland Security jobs in exchange for butt pleasures like Jim McSkeevy.
Sanford is a nobody in the scheme of national politics. Take away the TARP issue and no one’s ever heard of him before. That he is a “frontrunner” for the Republican nomination in 2012 illustrates how completely lost the Republican Party is.
I’ll concede that the liberals try to smother every legitimate candidate and define them as early as possible but smothering everything in the womb is their modus operandi so it’s hard to tell when it’s out of genuine concern.

I really liked Sanford and thought he could be one of the few fiscally responsible types that might return the GOP to its small-govt roots, but he had to pull his dick out and stick it in South America, by way of us. On the bright side, if he switches parties, he’s good to go.

Lookit, part of his platform is the values thing. If he stands on that and pulls this, then it ain’t just hypocrisy. He brought character issues into his politics, so this isn’t really a question of whether his private life should be separated.
The press can’t resist a good hypocrisy story and Sanford fed it to them on a silver platter.
The shame of it to me is that he is a fiscal conservative and we need more like him.
As far as the double standard. Look, Dems are the party of if it feels good, do it (unless it involves nicotine). Shoot, they practically run on that platform. So if Gavin Newsome is caught simultaneously banging his brother’s wife, illegal housekeeper and 4H show pony on Ted Turner’s Montana ranch, he has just solidified support from Los Angeles to Marin County. Extra points if the illegal immigrant is male, btw.

First, that screenshot was of the leading paper in South Carolina. So I can see how it might have been the only news of the day…there.
Next…what a ****ing tool. I know the Dems like to go to the “it’s just sex” card, but cheating on your wife speaks to one’s character and leadership qualities. I don’t want a Governor/President/Pastor/School Board President who violates what is supposed to be the most sacred of trusts. If you can cheat on your spouse, who else might you sell out? If you can do it when you KNOW the media will be all over you when you get caught, then you are just an idiot. You shouldn’t be freakin’ captain of your bowling team…
Thanks a lot, Mark Sanford. This country has real problems and you just created the perfect distraction for the Obama-media. It’s not a stretch in my mind to say that you are contributing to the downfall of our great country.
