True personal anecdote. Years ago a friend and I were hanging out in Santa Cruz. We went to a well known park behind the county court house to score some weed.
When the police showed up and we were ticketed – for parking at an expired meter.

My father used to have an expression he used to point out the gross stupidity of others to me. He would say, “If God sent me a daughter (or son) like that, I would take her to the river and hold her under.” I’m kind of missing my father right now.
