We went over to the July 4th DC TEA Party and there are some pics posted on the blog, although they’re no longer on the front page. The date-stamp on those is not correct however because I changed batteries on my camera that morning and didn’t reset the date (oops) but they were taken on July 4th 2009.

We have six children, boys 23, 11, and 4 and girls 10, 8, and 6. The 11 year old and I will be alternating with videos and still photos, so we should have lots of them. All but the 23 year old are home-schooled currently, and of course for it to count as a field trip we need to document it.

This is a really pivotal time in the USA, I know the most pivotal time in my 50 years on earth and possibly the most pivotal time since The War for Independence. If we win this fight against the enemies from within and without, then never again can we allow our government to go without being accountable constantly, both to the Constitution and to us whom the Constitution gives the power to consent to being governed by those we elect.

I’m going to have to miss it. I hope I don’t regret it.

We’re planning on taking ours to Washington DC next weekend for a homeschool field trip. I think we’ll include an observation in the exercise of free speech on Saturday morning. Hopefully they will still be able to enjoy that part of The Constitution (and the rest of it)when they become adults.

There’s nothing offensive in that released text of the speech from the White House blog. With all the scrutiny given, did anyone really think that he was going to put in a line about a civilian youth corps and asking children to send a flag e-mail to the gubmint if their parents have a gun in their home?

I have a complaint about his examples of kids who’ve overcome obstacles to learn but that’s a post for another day.
