This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Jew Of Us
September 7th, 2009 at 12:19 am by BrianAfter sucker punching Honduras for standing hand-in-hand with democracy, you just had to know that this was coming next:
The Obama administration attacked Israel on Friday for giving the green light to the building of hundreds of new homes in the occupied West Bank even as the two sides negotiate a freeze on settlement construction.
…
“We regret the reports of Israel’s plans to approve additional settlement construction,” said Robert Gibbs, White House spokesman.
Suggested Obama Mid-East foreign policy title “Leave No Enemy Behind”.
Don’t worry any of our faithful Israeli readers. It’s not just you that Obama hates. It’s that you’re not using Union labor to construct the settlements and that building new homes when the old ones were still fine (give or take a few bulletholes) does not help to “green” the West Bank with environmentally-friendly jobs for “at-risk” Palestinian youth. As if biodegrading back into Mother Earth in a thousand pieces wasn’t enough.
According to the Israeli official, a suspension of construction would be authorised only if the “conditions are right”, including if Arab countries made efforts to normalise ties with the Jewish state.
Read: never.
The only question I have is what kind of sanctions await Israel for violating His word. Do you cut off funds like you did for Honduras all at once or do you start by cutting off all military aid and sales as a wink and a nod to the Islamic hardliners Obama’s been groveling at the feet of like a slave since his Reign of Error began?
Whatever you say – never claim that he likes to meddle in the affairs of other countries. Boy, he never does that.
Perhaps the Israelis can engage in the same spirited dialogue with the Palestinian encroachers that Iran did with their protesters to gain Mssr. Obama’s respect back.

“Whatever you say – never claim that he likes to meddle in the affairs of other countries. Boy, he never does that.’
Yes, and don’t forget that you can’t say he has any Czars either….
I think the “sanctions” will be in the form of supplying weapons to Iran.

Salute to the headline. As for sanctions, anything Obama would propose would hurt the Palestinians just as much, given their dependence on Israel.

Reign of Error. That’s becoming part of my lexicon today.

Most of today’s countrie’s have borders created through wars. Most of today’s countries include areas belonging to others(before those wars.)
Onlu israel is not allowed to own the lands it concered throuht defensive wars. No, Israel is yust a pain in the ass of most western politicians. So they do everything to undermine the future of Israel. We in Israel cdo just the right thing. keep our country strong for the future.

Meir, don’t you see that by ignoring the obvious intrusion the settlements make, Israel will just have to live with the consequences, which are a rise in violence? Then when the terror attacks begin again, Israel will claim it’s people are being persecuted…and Israel just doesn’t see what the rest of the world sees. You are impeding the peace process instead of working toward a lasting peace!

Jews have owned that land for thousands of years. Totally absurd for Obama to demand a halt to building on their own land.

Dear Grant,
I see that completely. But you see, I don’t believe that there will ever be peace while two people, who hate each other so much (at least from one side) live in that area; Between the sea and the river (Jordan). So I think that at the end of this strugle one people will have to leave. Specially as the area known as “Palestine” included today’s Jordan. So they have already a homeland.
Don’t forget that 80% of the roots of the Palestinian’s are in neighbouring countries. When their forefathers (and mothers) came to Western Palestine due to the improvement of that area, when Jews started to live there and invest there.

Dear Grant,
Another point I forgot.
What you see is nice, but we have to live there. And we see not only what the media shows, but reality. And that rteality is clearly that theArab side is totaly unwilling to except a Jewish Nation in the neighbourhood.

Exactly, Meir.

What percentage of the Jewish vote did President Obama garner, again? I can’t remember. Hang on, it’s coming to me now.

That’s right, 77% (or better).

Proving what, jll? According to Alan Dershowitz, Jews are attracted to the Democratic party because they embody uniquely Jewish values like abortion and gay rights.
“I want Jews to remain Democrats—if they support, as I do, liberal principles such as a women’s right to choose abortion, the rights of gays and lesbians to equal justice, and other progressive policies.”
I don’t think Israeli Jews feel the same way seeing that their survival may come before feelgood progressive politics.
Thanks for playing.
