Letterman has never been, nor will he ever be funny. All this non-sense couldn't have happend to a better OsamaHusseinIslamObama supporter.

I could be wrong. He could just be a misogynist and this whole Sarah Palin bullcrap could be a symptom of it. He didn't waste a second after his "apology" last night to get another jab in at her.

If Americans didn't consider comedians to be political advisers this would be a different story though.

Honestly, you won't want me around when the zombies come. I'll be the first to get my head chewed off for leaning on my rifle and psychoanalyzing. That's why I'm often mistaken for a liberal. Of course if I do get my head chewed off, you get a free AR15 and some ammo, so we should probably stay friends.

But I digress.

Me Shel,

My "dander" isn't really up. Actually I don't care if Letterperv was a pig to his wife/girlfriend/whatever. Of course I do care that he was a pig to his subordinates.

The two consenting adults argument? It's part of what is wrong with our moral fabric in this country. Letterman's actions (and the reaction of his audience)were reprehensible. Sure he's "just a comedian", but he's also a very powerful figure at CBS. Tell me that he didn't wield that power over some of the women in his employ. And sure, those women probably "consented" and were perhaps culpable as well.

But the stench emmanating from the David Letterman show is too strong for me to tolerate.

And I'm still raging pissed at him for his attack on Palin's daughters and his subsequent unapology.

Another thing I read or heard about this. Why use it as fodder for your program? Why use it at all? It's not comedy. I think his program is SUPPOSED to be a comedy at the beginning, anyway. It would be reported in the newspapers, no?

Is he so desperate for jokes? Or does he wish to portray himself as a victim?

Whether he did it while married or not doesn't matter. He was in a position of authority, and he slept with [apparently] more than one of his staffers while they were working for him. At most places of employment for the "unwashed masses", this is grounds for employment termination.

I don't understand why the extortionist thought Letterman would pay. Would expect there is evidence of WAY more than infidelity here if one was going to extort money.

just sayin.....

But what's the adage, it's the cover-up that gets you? Whenever you have a situation where the authority figure could be coercing his staff into the bedroom you've got a potential scandal with the public, advertisers, etc. We don't know what he did or not. Couple this on the heels with Polanski and we see there are clearly two sets of rules.

I know my company's harassment policy and I've got to be careful the way I tell somebody if they're dressed nice today - so I just don't. If I say it the wrong way I'm off to HR for sensitivity training. The policy for fraternizing is even worse and if you're married it's grounds for termination.

If it was no big deal then why was somebody trying to extort money from him? He could have just said, "you picked the wrong guy, buddy. My partner and I have an "understanding"."

My beef is he's a guy who has jumped all over the personal lives of Republicans and made sick jokes about their underage kids. Yea, he made a lot of cracks about Clinton when there was no way to ignore it anymore but come on. It's almost a year after the election and you can still bank on a Sarah Palin joke in the first ten minutes of every show. Count on no Barack Obama jokes, period.

Without this, the only way I'm going to get any happier is if they find him doing his best David Carradine impersonation a few hours too late.

Here's the deal guys; it's not really clear that he cheated on his "wife". Yes he's had the same girlfriend since 1986, but "girlfriend" implies no clear commitment. They did have a child in 2003, and they just got married this March. There's no indication that theirs was a closed relationship. Everyone in the story is a happily consenting adult. This story piques my curiosity, but it hardly gets my dander up.

Oh, Nigel. Now go and look at what you've done. You had to knock that strawman right over and make a mess on the floor my wife just cleaned.

Maybe Paul can start playing porno music when he makes his way to the stage. Boom-chikki-wow-wow.

Liberals have no standards. The worst thing Letterman could have done would have been to be a faithful husband (they'll nominate you for President if she has cancer) or a good father to his child (That's what the government is for).

"Ain't"...nobody is saying that Letterdouche committed a "crime". Of course he did abuse his power with subordinates (allegedly), and he did cheat on his wife (no big deal to a libtard, right?), and he did make crude sexual jokes about a 14 year old (but that's OK because it was Sarah Palin's daughter, right?).

I'm sure there's even more creepy things about Letterperv we don't know about...and don't really WANT to know about.

But hey, to a libtard it's all good...morality don't mean nothin'.

The real fool here is the media genius one who tried to extort 2 mil from Letterman for this non-story. Once again a newsman has no clue what the public cares about.

As far as David Letterman goes: a well-groomed, wealthy, seemingly friendly guy with a self-effacing sense of humor is a very attractive man at any age. I bet the girls didn't have any regrets. Probably make a good collection of short stories.

So there:)
