Why Daddy Drinks, Indeed

November 10th, 2009 at 11:20 am by Preston Taylor Holmes

Humorist, Buffet friend and all-around good guy Ronald Hart has just released his new book, No Such Thing As A Pretty Good Alligator Wrestler: Kids, Politics and Family-Why Daddy Drinks

Pick it up at Amazon.Com or visit his website for discounts on multiple copies for the coming Ramahanakwanzmas gift-giving season.

He gets some props from P.J. O’Rourke, among others:

The best thing about Ron Hart is that you don’t have to crack wise about his name. He isn’t “Hartless” or “all Hart” (although he does produce “Harty” laughs). Unlike certain organic-type commentators, Ron uses his head. He exhibits guts aplenty, but what we get most from Ron is brains.

– P.J. O’Rourke, political satirist and best-selling author

Let’s face it, we can all use a good laugh or three these days.

  2. Jan Butsch Says:

Ron Hart is hilarious! I’d recommend this book to anyone, no matter what your politics are.

  3. Steve Says:

“Just finished it, one of the most insightful and funny books i have ever read. if you need a good laugh and a little knowledge pick up this book”

  4. joyce jensen Says:

Have always enjoyed his columns, whether in Tn or Florida.
Have recommmended this book to many of my friends who believe that what Ron Hart says needs to be said and yet he says it with humor.

    Enjoyed it. Good read.

  5. Brian Says:

Amazon says that the illustrator is Michael Ramirez. Is that *the* Michael Ramirez?

  6. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Yep, Ramirez and Hart both have Memphis roots.

  7. Donna Locke Says:

Ron’s from down here in Columbia (TN). I don’t know if he was born here. I asked him if his relatives here, particularly that uncle he writes about, are still speaking to him and he said yes. Ron isn’t the only character in his family.
