First win the war. Then transition to a good civilian government. That's how it goes. Pulling out of Afghanistan because their government doesn't meet our standards would be like withdrawing from Italy after Anzio in 1944, leaving Italy to the Nazis because the Italians didn't have a good Democracy up and running.
