Eric Holder Resigns To Represent Khalid Sheik Mohammed
November 14th, 2009 at 12:43 pm by BrianIt’s not too far fetched. After all, his old law firm was representing at least 17 Gitmo detainees earlier this year. What? Is Lynne Stewart not available? She is out of jail after all and now celebrated on the college talk circuit.
The last time New York put on a trial for the terrorists, the Blind Sheik’s attorney was convicted of conspiracy to provide material support that directly led to the deaths of hundreds:
One of the most incendiary communications was a message Stewart herself gave to the Reuters news service in June 2000 in which the sheikh announced his withdrawal of support for a cease-fire between the Egyptian Islamic Group and the Egyptian government.[12] The truce had been in place since 1997, just after his followers in Egypt had opened fire on tourists at the Temple of Hatshepsut in Luxor, killing 58 foreigners and 4 Egyptians.[13] Subsequently, high-casualty Islamist terrorism resumed in Egypt on October 7, 2004, with a series of bombings that killed 34 in and around the Egyptian Sinai resort of Taba. On July 23, 2005, three bombs exploded in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, killing at least 64.
Government investigators searching Stewart’s law offices found a draft of the sheikh’s fatwa that bin Laden later said inspired him.[14] In it, Abdel Rahman enjoined his fellow Muslims everywhere to kill Americans, even children, “to treat them with brutality,” and to “drown their ships, shoot down their airplanes, kill them on earth, in the sea or in the sky, kill them everywhere you find them” in order to obtain his release from U.S. prison.[15]
[...]
In May of 2000, according to the prosecution, tapes indicate that Yousry told the sheikh and Stewart that the Abu Sayyaf group had kidnapped tourists in the Philippines and was threatening to kill them if the sheikh and Ramzi Yousef were not released. Stewart commented, “Good for them.”
All while the Blind Sheik’s show trial was being held in New York. “How could he have been responsible when he was locked up in jail all night?”, as the Joker might ask.
“Bottom line is we have had terrorists housed in New York before,” Mr. Schumer said.
As time will tell, we will see that he will be prosecuting the United States and the previous administration and not the men who attacked this country on September 11th.
In that, the terrorists won. They kill us and we give them an attorney, a culturally sensitive meal three times a day and a taxpayer supplied prayer rug to wish for our deaths.
They won our national election in November 2008 and now they are just rubbing it in.
This decision befits President Obama’s rushed and misguided announcement on his second day in office that he would close Gitmo within a year. This was before the Administration had thought through what to do with the 215 prisoners there, though it did win him applause in Europe and on the American left. Yesterday’s decision rids Gitmo of these meddlesome detainee cases in order to speed up this entirely political shutdown.
I know I’ve said it before. Back before the election I was speaking with a colleague about how you can’t worry about politics so much and that once in a great while that you have to let go and put your faith in the hands of the American people to do the right thing.
Again, boy was I wrong. America voted to lose and got exactly what it wanted.

“once in a great while that you have to let go and put your faith in the hands of the American people to do the right thing.”
It takes great courage and maturity to say that.
You’ll end up like I will: painting your skylights over, arming your family to the teeth, stocking up on survival food, turning off the talk radio, putting in earplugs so you don’t hear the chaos in the streets, and reading trashy novels.
That’s what I’ll call “letting it go.”

Unfortunately, in this scenario “Courage + Maturity = Stupidy x Naivete”.
About now, I have approximately no faith left in the vast majority of this country to wipe their own asses.

How is it, with all the unhinged Right Wing, Tea-Bag Terrorists walking our streets, that Lynn Stewart hasn’t been fitted with a pair of Cement Shoes?
