Now Go Out And Win This Thing In Time For My Re-Election Campaign
December 1st, 2009 at 8:37 pm by BrianI’m sorry. I thought this Address To The Nation was to all of the American people. Not just “The Nation” editorial staff.
This entire speech is nothing more than an attempt to calm his leftwing base. He needs to rehash why we are in Afghanistan as if anyone has forgotten.
One second he’s claiming Iraq was a distraction and that he’s not going to go into it and the next second he immediately goes into it and to my total surprise admits that he was always against it and does not support it which should really be a morale booster for the troops in that theater.
And it sounds like he’s going to try to Kosovo Afghanistan with a NATO-led gambit as if we can’t see Wesley Clark’s grubby fingerprints all over it.
If you are left uninspired listening to his hopey hokum – don’t worry. This speech was not for you. This speech was for Queen Nancy and in an attempt to please everyone he’s going to disappoint them all.

This speech was most certainly NOT for me. I live on the West Coast, but if this bastard pre-empted my Charlie Brown Christmas Special (like occurred back East), he’s lost my vote.

Actually, the speech was intended for Miss Jane Hathaway.

Greetings:
I used to have a sweetheart who liked to drag me to the opera. She once told me that the folks putting on the opera would have a “claquer” I think was the word I the audience. His job was to get the applause started. I think President has himself one of those too.

Barack is likely every bit narcissist enough to believe that this will result in a declaration of victory that he can ride to reelection. The actual best case is that the enemy hides out in caves until we leave, because with the current rules of engagement our military will be in a tough fight just to defend themselves. Of course, once we leave the enemy will declare victory over us and enjoy the spoils of increased recruiting and immense propaganda; no worries for Barack though because his media will ignore that part of it.
