Is this “Presidential”?
December 18th, 2009 at 12:02 pm by NigelI don’t think so. I think it’s chickenshit:
“I would have less of a voice and I would have less respect if I voted for things I didn’t believe in because of pressure from the leadership,” DeFazio told The Hill in an interview.
Obama himself has taken notice.
“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother,” Obama told DeFazio during a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, according to members afterward.
Yeah, I know…I live in this fantasy world where my President doesn’t “keep score” in order to get even, but rather leads with integrity, poise and character. I sense that our President thinks he’s still in junior high and that he’ll grab his buddy Rahm to jump DeFazio after school to beat him up.

The money quote: …live in this fantasy world where my President doesn’t “keep score” in order to get even, but rather leads with integrity, poise and character.
Would that this were true. It is unfortunate that the POTUS is such a classless lying jerk.

A Chicago mobster wrapped in Jesus garb. I’d say we were sold a bill of goods by the adoring media, but people really see what they want to see. Idiots.

It’s oddly satisfying to watch the Dem’s eat their own.

And don’t think we’re not keeping score, too, Barry: Copenhagen – 2 : Obama/Chicago – ZERO!

what a sh*theel. This is not the behavior of a president, this is the behavior of a 6 year old.

You know, I think all of you are right. The only problem is I don’t doubt that the Bush White House (or any other for that matter) were that much different. Do you really think Rove didn’t pull some weight around? I’m sure he did and the truth is, we all liked it because it fit our agenda.
Damn, I hate the Dems and Teh One as much as youse guys. But let’s not make this something it ain’t. We’re a lot stronger of a movement when we act like big boys.

The Bush people held legendary grudges. Not quite so openly or with an applauding Press though. There were never any Graysons or Frankens on the Right cussing Democrats out on tv every night.
“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother” should be The Right’s motto for the 2010 Mid-Terms. Every debate shut off. Every Senate rule violated. Every bit of legislation overturned. Every piece of pork to every Democrat district that got twice the stimulus funds yanked. IRS investigations into every RAT 501(c). Every “non-profit’s” tax exempt status revoked.
Unfortunately, Republicans are a ball-less lot who are quick to make kissyface and play footsie with the assholes who’ve been smacking them in the face with a 2×4 for the past 4 years. Same with the self-proclaimed “elite” Right bloggers who are practically McCain-like in Nature for how quickly they throw their own people under the bus at the first sign of trouble.
Here’s where I stop before I started in on my “Burn It All Down” soliloquy.

My last thoughts on this…we kind of know that the Bush administration played some hardball. But like this?
None of us here are actually defenders of the Bush legacy (see Preston’s latest post). But show me where the Bush administration was so blatant. If the Bush administration attempted to intimidate other pols, at least it was somewhat nuanced. Obama and Rhambo simply don’t give a shit if they kneecap someone in plain sight (hello Ben Nelson)
