Thanks, GOP

December 21st, 2009 at 12:21 pm by Preston Taylor Holmes

Maybe you’ve seen the news that McShame is lamenting the fact that the GOP can do nothing to stop the government takeover of healthcare in America, or, at least, what used to be America.

As usual for the GOP, too little, too late. The bill got over its first hurdle last night.

McShame needs to grab his walker, amble down the hall to the crapper, and lean over and look at his stupid face in the mirror and thank himself for this. Because, very simply, the GOP should bear the lion’s share of the blame for this catastrophe.

“How dare I say such a thing?” the GOP sheep will ask. It all goes back to the mid-90s.

After HillaryCare went down in flames (note that the first thing the socialists do when they gain power is go after healthcare, because it is the golden ticket when it comes to controlling the population and they know it, just ask Hitler) in 1993, the American public expressed its displeasure by kicking the socialist Dim-O-Cracks out on their asses.

It was a time of sweet, sweet gridlock and a movement towards fiscal restraint and BUDGET SURPLUSES.

Unfortunately, the new wave of “conservative, small-government” Republicans soon discovered the power of the purse and the power of their own egos. Limp-wristed and self-serving leadership from dirtbags like Trent Lott and Bill Frist resulted in a GOP majority that couldn’t pass legislation to tie its own shoes, all the while playing the same pay-to-play corruption games that has become the hallmark of governments large and small.

Then in the 2000s, this pathetic GOP leadership found the perfect country-club Republican in George Bush to continue the elitist big-spending cronyism that resulted in more and more giveaways and pandering to special interests. His tenure was complicated by the islamic terrorist attacks of 9/11, but Bush never saw a spending bill he didn’t like – especially if some of those millions were going to his beloved illegals.

To make things many times worse, you had gutless, liberal GOP Senators like McCain, Lispy Graham, Snowe, Hatch, Collins, Spectre, Alexander and others whose only goals were to be praised by the leftist media and avoid any appearance of partisanship. Cowards, liars and crooks, just like their counterparts across the aisle.

This reckless spending and spinelessness resulted in the GOP getting their asses kicked all over the playground in 2006 and 2008. And they STILL DON’T FUCKING UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAPPENED.

Now, thanks to the worst Presidential candidacy since Bob Dole, we have a President who is nothing more than a moronic Marxist union thug from Chicago, surrounded by academics and labor racketeers who hate America and hate Capitalism. Yeah, I went there.

This administration and the other Congressional Communists – Reid, Pelosi, Durbin, Frank, Byrd, Nelson, et al – are rushing to spend as much as possible and pass as much economy crushing legislation as possible because everything they do is opposed by a majority of the American public. It’s now or never to bring down Capitalism once and for all, and they’re getting closer with each 1 am vote.

Some have gone a little further and suggested that the Obamabots are pushing towards an intentional collapse of the economy and monetary system so that the America that we grew up with will be burned down and rebuilt by these same thugs, in their utopian socialist image. When you look at what they’re spending compared to previous eras, it’s hard to argue with them.

At every turn, this administration (in conjunction with its co-conspirators in congress) has been pushing legislation that strips away your liberty and removes your freedom of choice. It’s all geared toward restricting your freedom and shutting down America’s once-great economic engine. Don’t be fooled by their love of the “environment” – the ultimate goal of these people is totalitarian control, not saving the planet from their own manufactured junk science.

Now the GOP is standing around with their finger in their collective ass wondering how they are going to stop this Marxist freight train. They have one of two choices: (1) merge with the tea-party movement and put the constitution, limited government, spending restraint and budget slashing above all else, and pledge a blood oath to REPEAL everything they can, including healthcare OR (2) relegate themselves to the dustbin of history while a new third party emerges that is focused on returning this country to its roots of self-reliance, limited government, federalism and the well-designed limitations of the Constitution.

If history is any indicator, you can go ahead and purchase your sympathy card for the GOP’s next of kin.

Great post Preston…you know for a fact that the GOP ain’t going for option 1. Last week on Sean Hannity’s radio show a caller ripped him for switching to the Conservative Party…Hannity was correct in telling the caller that when the Republicans actually become CONSERVATIVE again he’d rejoin.

  2. Gordon Says:

Wow, nice work Pres. Well, my only consolation is that all those kids enthralled by the aura of the One, will understand when their first mandatory healthcare purchase occurs.

  3. Brian Says:

Almost as unsurprising as it is disappointing for me to say this, the so-called Tea Party movement is a joke. There is no leadership and no centralized message and as I warned lo so many months ago – if you have neither of those then any yahoo can make like “Stork” in Animal House and jump out in front of the parade.

Like the nazi-sympathizing clown Pat Buchanan did to the Reform Party.

I’d settle for some people who knew how to keep a secret to start beating people to death with baseball bats and leave some tea bags covering their eyes as a calling card. In that time-honored Chicago style, they’ve got the entire country laid up in a government run hospital, now it’s time to send some of their’s to the morgue.

We need a Dead Pool. There are just so many contenders jockeying for first. From the fever swamps of Florida to the postage stamp of Rhode Island, it seems so many Democrats are just so darned tired of living.

  4. Army Mom Says:

Tell it like it is Preston. If things keep going the way they are, there will definitely be CHANGE coming soon. I wonder how long before all those people who thought the Dems were going to help them realize they were duped.

My father-in-law is a liberal and is gloating about how they are finally undoing all the “bad Reagan policies”. The rest of the family is either moderate or firmly conservative. Christmas ought to be fun with him around. Urgh!

  6. Falconsword Says:

    Brian,

It’s coming to that. When you force someone with threats to everything they have, everything they will ever earn, and their very childrens futures, and push their backs against the wall, one should never be surprised when they resort to deadly force. I can promise you I won’t be the first, and will carefully watch the justification and methodology of anyone who makes that first move, but that day is fast approaching.

  7. Charlotte Says:

I’m not an extremist or anything, but Falconsword…you are very, very correct.

There is a revolution brewing folks. BRING IT ON!!!!

  8. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Army Mom, I’ve got two flat-out Marxists in my family – and what makes it worse is they’re both attorneys in positions of note. We rarely get together as you would imagine.

  9. Gabriel Syme Says:

This is outstanding. It should be mandatory in every history text book. As is.

  10. Annika Says:

Only thing I’d add Preston, is that there is a third way: we take over the Republican Party! The way Reagan took it over from the moderates back in 80. Much as I admire third party movements for their adherence to principled conservatism, there’s no substitute for victory. The only way to undo this disaster is to take back our party from the losers who got us in this mess. We need to be ruthless about this. I think the level of anger is high enough that this can be done.

  11. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Annika, I knew you’d educate me. Is our method of takeover hammering the milquetoast in the primaries a la Rubio vs Crist? If so, we need a hit list and to get troops in place yesterday.

  12. Diggers Realm Says:

F’in Republicans Brought Us The Health Care Bill…

Yes, things like the health care bill are totally the fault of the spineless and worthless Republicans. Preston over at Six Meat Buffet says it better than I ever could though so go read his blistering take. Maybe you’ve seen……

    Exactly.

There’s no need for a 3rd party AT THIS POINT–if everyone would put the same energy into cleaning out the GOP stables and neutering the RINOs within. Much as I like to think I’d be one of the first in the streets for a 3rd party (and I would), I think it’s time to clean up the REPUBs in 2010…and if they don’t listen, THEN the hell with it…

1854 birthed the Republicans, essentially killed the Whigs, so I wonder what I would have done then?!?

Probably waited until 1860, like most of the rest of the country.

  15. Preston Taylor Holmes Says:

Mondo, you and Annika are both right. It is the quickest way to fixing this calamity, but, thus far the GOP has shown no ability to learn. 2010 is really the final test. There are some good races that will tell the story (Rubio, etc). That should be the focus for the next 11 months for sure.

  16. Kevin Joyner Says:

I will not pay for Obamacare! I will not feed once cent of my earnings to this administration. And when they come to take me to jail for my refusal they will know at that moment, that at least one American is willing to fight the real fight for what he believes in!

  17. sue eighmy Says:

I have known all along that Mcshame was a liberal. That is why Obama won. They think that it was because of his Supreme personality. But the fact is, if anyone but McShame had run republicans would have voted. What is worse, the repubs knew it. Now that really makes one wonder.
