The city smelled like dirty mop water, and everything, even in the above-board establishments out of the French Quarter, was sticky. Oddly though, I didn't see many New Orleanseans, mostly volunteers. Not saying it's a lazy city, but...OK, that's exactly what I am saying. A smelly, lazy city. I lived in Las Vegas for four years. Dusty and smoggy, but not too smelly. I did two post-Katrina clean-ups.
