Fun With Racism
August 28th, 2010 at 12:50 pm by CrankyDuring the Obama/McCain campaign, I created this YouTube video to poke fun at the constant accusations of racism that were just then starting. Of course, I had no idea how bad it would get and how it would continue with every talking head explaining away one of Obama’s failures.
I’m reposting it not only because it is still relevant, but also because of the hundreds of comments I’ve received. Among the comments from the semi-literate (f**k Obama, McCain suxx, etc.) and the real racists from both ends, there are comments that fascinate me. People from all ends of the political spectrum are seeing what they want to see. Check it out. It’s only 37 seconds. I’ll wait for you.
Some conservatives think this is a blatant smear on McCain put there by liberals. Liberals often cry racism, no surprise there, even though the treatment is so absurd.
My favorite comment comes from a guy who said he is “baked as f**k” and still knows its a joke.
So, does anyone know if there is a psychological or cultural term for people who see something through their own biases? Maybe I can get a PhD in this.

Sweet, innocent Cranky. You had no idea that the Post-Racial President would be the Most-Racial? We’ve got to toughen you up.
It’s called “Projection”. They don’t see actual racism in their opponent but they know it’s there because they do it themselves.
Every liberal is a racist who only sees people based on their aggrieved identity group. They believe skin color trumps having an original thought or a differing stance or else they must be beaten with Massah’s lash.
Recently, a half-white person was discriminated into the Oval Office. True to his grafted white devil half-self, he’s been lashing the “racist” whip with a fury.
In November, the slaves revolt. Who will be the next John Brown or Nat Turner to be celebrated by history for attacking the oppressors?

The problem I had Brian isn’t innocence. It is underestimating the shamelessness of the race baiters. I suppose a sane person could argue that a country that elects a black president might not be as racist as one first believed. But then that would leave a lot grievance mongers underemployed.

Let’s see. “Bigot.” “Ethnocentrist.” “Egoist” or, alternatively, “Egotist.”
It would be hard for you to get a Phd in a social science, these days. Why? Because they’re the Political Dark Arts, that’s why!
If the Marxists and Neo-Marxists don’t get ya, then the Feminists and Post-Feminists will! Unless you write the Phd from a “victimology” perspective.

As one who has been called every name in the book, their shamelessness has always been apparent to me. It’s like the old definition:
Bigot: A conservative who is a winning an argument with a liberal.
If it makes you feel any better it’s only going to get a lot worse between now and 2012.
We’ve been experiencing them on their good behavior for the last year and a half. We’re all xenophobic, nativist, Islamophobic white tribalists thus far. When they lose the House and the Senate that’s when they’ll start calling us real names. After all, there’s no way that we disagree with them on policy grounds.
Right now, the media is swirling the bowl. After November, their little turtleheads are going to come peeking back out – angry at the public’s rejection of their unrepentant and obvious activism.
Before the Electoral Plumbers shut the water off, they’ll steal all the “W” keys off their keyboards and call us names and smear us like an Army of feces flinging Ed Schulzes.

I knew when Obama was elected that the left would never throw away their race card. It has proven itself to be far too valuable to allow that to happen. Throw in aging black leaders and the NAACP who are desperate to remain relevant in a world where race is steadily growing less important and the picture is complete. As for the term you are looking for to describe the self blinded phenomena, I suggest “hard headed idiot” or HHI. I believe that this term is appropriate because such people will not listen to reason hence the term “hard headed” and their actions based on faulty information and a steadfast resistance to recognize common sense leads to the term “idiot.” Therefore the HHI term is an accurate descriptor of this phenomenon. Good luck in your pursuit of your PhD and I look forward to seeing HHI listed in the DSM V.
