Never thought I’d say this…but SCREW YOU Tea Party Express

October 27th, 2010 at 5:58 pm by Nigel

I just got an email from the Tea Party Express.

Turns out I’m a failure.

I’ve let them down.

I haven’t done my part.

I HAVE to do better, or I am personally responsible for the socialist takeover of the US.

My question…has the Tea Party been co-opted by union thugs or something?:

This morning we put a call out to 400,000 patriots across this nation – including yourself. Our plea was to get constitutional conservatives such as yourself to pitch in to our final election push as we are just 1-week away from Election Day.

Our goal: to raise $1 MILLION so that we could push the best constitutional candidates in the country over the top to victory. We’d then with the House, and perhaps even the Senate.

But we failedall of us. As of this evening only 250 people made a contribution.

This is one of the greatest failures we here at the Tea Party Express have ever had in terms of raising money for a campaign push, and this is the worst possible time for us to fail: just 1 WEEK out before Election Day.

We MUST do better.

The Email title was “We FAILED”.

You know what? We are SIX freakin’ days out of the election. If the Tea Party STILL hasn’t gotten its message out…well perhaps they haven’t been fiscally responsible with the funds they have been given.

I know that campaign funds are crucial, but guilting your base into donations is a very poor strategy for fundraising.

Or maybe it isn’t. I don’t know…because when I donate politically I usually do it because:

1) I believe in the candidate and
2) I have the funds to do so.

I don’t do it because some political organization emails me to tell me what a pile of crap I am because I haven’t given them enough money.

For the record, I have already given money this campaign season to:

Sean Bielat
Christine O’Donnell
Joe Miller
Nick Popaditch
Ruth McClung
Michele Bachmann

I’m done. And if the Tea Party candidates lose…well then I guess I suck.

Sounds like you did your part to me. I only wish that I could vote for Nick Popaditch. That is the only reason that I would ever want to live in Cali.

  2. Nigel Says:

    Paul,

The fish tacos. You gotta give us that.

Oh…and I can play golf comfortably 330 days out of the year.

And my football teams repeatedly kick the crap out of Preston and Brian’s (well, maybe not THIS week).

But other than that…yeah, Texas is looking better and better.

  3. paul mitchell Says:

    Firstly, PAC-10 is not footbaw.

Secondly, I am from Mississippi, so we can play golf at least that long, too. Our winter is three weeks long and it snows once every three years. That said, the best course I ever played was Indian Wells and y’all can keep that 104 degree sun blistering.

Thirdly, catfish tacos are the bees knees, and Mississippi is catfish capitol of the world.

Fourthly, Mississippi has a state income tax, so Tejas beats the crap outta us there.

  4. republicanmother Says:

Yeah, who’s paying for their fancy buses? The beauty of the tea party movement is that it doesn’t require a lot of organization or funding – it just encourages people to donate just like you did – to individual candidates so there’s not any waste. This must be part of the attempt of big money to co-opt the Tea Party I’ve been hearing about – screw them indeed.

  5. Nigel Says:

Paul, denigrate the Pac 10 all you want, but guess who’s ranked #1 right now…

    That’s right…it’s OREGON.

And ask Preston how many times Tennessee has beaten Pac 10 teams recently.

I am not a Mississippi hater. I went to Southern Mississippi after Katrina and met some amazing people.

R/M…you make a GREAT point with that bus. Though I have to admit I don’t mind the bus as long as it increases our carbon footprint.

  6. paul mitchell Says:

Nigel, it’s Auburn (SEC) that is number one, dude. Oregon is number two.

But, you need to come hang out in The ‘Sip with us. The more like-minded folks that we get, the better that our state does. Granted, MS-2 pulls the averages down to the bottom, but the rest of the state, sans Jackson, is the greatest place on Earth.

  7. Nigel Says:

    Paul, we’re both correct:

  8. paul mitchell Says:

I understand that PAC-10 fans want to believe the APee matters, but the college footbaw champion is decided by the BCS since 1998.

I wrote a post on this topic this morning. Enjoy.

  9. Something Wicked This Way Comes Says:

Fuck a bunch of that Auburn and Oregon shit. Here in Boise, we know who the best team is even if those fuck tards don’t.

I like Miss. I lived in Nola for a little over a year and hung out a lot in Gulfport and the Waveland area. Dug Vicksburg. Not sure what to think about that fucking Tea Party shit. Don’t they know their base is a bunch of angry and pissed off out of work people? What do they want, food stamps from us?

  10. paul mitchell Says:

Something Wicked, I have only been to one junior college game so I do not have first hand experience of your team, but I hear that Boise is pretty danged good.

And Waveland is completely different today, I’m sorry to say. Katrina landed there, when it moved East to miss New Orleans entirely.

  11. Something Wicked This Way Comes Says:

JC? Oh them’s fightin words…this JC whipped Oregon’s whiny ass last year, maybe it will be Auburn this year. This is an excellent program and it is sneaky. These boys really gear up for big games, but I notice them sliding thru the easy ones. That is what creates the illusion that they’re not that good. The LA Times ranked them best in the country preseason and I snickered. But, they might just be that good.

I lived up town on Napoleon, close to Tulane. I loved it. That was in 2007. I played some cards in Biloxi, and Gulfport. Biloxi was still a mess.

  12. Nigel Says:

I can’t believe this post turned into a college football throwdown

  13. paul mitchell Says:

Nigel, YOU turned it up to eleven, I just made ten louder.

Something Wicked, Biloxi has always been a mess, ever since Camille.
