Were that these berzerker hobos lying-in-wait “islands to themselves”. Diminishing the 99% with each douche-tastic display.

Needless to say, when you’ve lost a white, vinegary Leftist like Bill Maher – your baggeth runneth over (sausage link to Noel Sheppard at the invaluable NewsBusters):

‘Baggin’ It

BILL MAHER: Let me ask you about another occupation, because this is – and you would be good on this too, panel -, the occupation, the Occupy Wall Street, because similar to Afghanistan, when you occupy anything for too long people do get pissed off. And as I watch them on the news now I find myself almost agreeing with Newt Gingrich. Like, you know what – get a job. Only because, you know, the people who originally started, I think they went home and now it’s just these anarchist stragglers. And this is the problem when you, you know, when your movement involves sleeping over in the park. You wind up attracting the people who were sleeping over in the park anyway.

Please adjust your nozzles accordingly. That comment may come as a shock to any CBS watching diaper defiler, NPR latte enema-ed poser, or MSNBC kool-aid jello-shooter.

With your feeble attempts to play PR Ernie Pyles for Obama’s Army of unwashed Overcredentialed Under-educateds. Or your futile, shirt-wrenching efforts to plant victory gardens in the barren earth of these buy-now, pay-never Anarchists for greater state control. The only thing that stood in the way of tilling such a fertile narrative was the immovable stone of Subject and the Content.

Were that we able to douche you out to sea with them.

I think about this every day when I drive by this prime piece of real estate a stone’s throw from the state capitol and across the street from the Farmer’s Market. Three and a half years later.

Have you received any emails or letters claiming you as part of a class-action lawsuit? I get about three a years and it is usually about as pointless of this crime here:

If you purchased an Apple iTunes gift card, you could get benefits under a class action settlement.

A proposed settlement of a class action lawsuit could affect you if you purchased an Apple iTunes gift card and the card or packaging to which it was attached contained language that “songs are 99¢” or other language indicating that songs are priced at 99¢ (referred to as a “99¢ iTunes gift card” in the rest of this Notice).

Why yes, I probably did buy an iTunes gift card that said Songs are 99¢. So what’s the problem officer?

The lawsuit claimed that Apple advertised, distributed, and sold 99¢ iTunes gift cards. It further alleged that in April 2009, Apple raised the price of certain songs at the iTunes Store from 99¢ to $1.29 and that 99¢ iTunes gift card holders who purchased $1.29 songs were overcharged. Apple denies all allegations and has asserted many defenses.

Good Lord man! Kudos to the eagle-eyed lawyers who vigilantly guard my well being against corporate fascists. To think that Apple would cleverly work a 30¢ scam into an innocuous “promotion” then manipulate space-time where prices would rise in the future. I feel like you’re the handsome Superman who just rushed to the scene and saved my virtue from a would be rapist.

The settlement will provide you a $3.25 iTunes Store credit if you purchased or received a 99¢ iTunes gift card and used it to purchase one or more $1.29 songs from the iTunes Store on or before May 10, 2010.

Oh. Well thank you anyway, lawyer people for taking up the banner of Justice and righting a $3.25 cent wrong. I’m sure you got the same $3.25 reward from this and you’re cool with that because it was about doing the right thing.

Did Apple actually do anything malicious or illegal in this case?

Apple denies all allegations and has asserted many defenses. The parties are entering into this settlement to avoid burdensome and costly litigation. The settlement is not an admission of wrong-doing or an indication that any law was violated.

In another era, one might call this a protection racket. But Apple is an evil corporation (OK, I’ll concede this one) and “the people” get a free trinket. So it’s A-OK!

UPDATE iOwnTheWorld makes the connection between slimy lawyers and Democrats.

Having my many creative thoughts for raising money for local charities rocked down by legal counsel, I was left wondering what to make of this redline from Drudge regarding $3 entry fees to have dinner with Obama and holding a lottery for his clean and articulate company:

The emails from the Barack Obama reelect about winning a dinner with the president as a randomized reward for contributing to the campaign have gotten a bit more intense as time goes on, and the latest one, from the first lady, emphasizes that the winner of such a prize shouldn’t freak out about it.

”Just relax,” she advises.

Yea. My “just relax” / “it’s for a good cause” gambit to our sitff lipped counsel didn’t assuage their concerns about violating lottery laws. After all, there are a wealth of rules and regulations that govern lotteries, raffles, etc.. Take the District of Columbia for example concerning and the Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board including, at the very least, some licensing requirements:

1502 RAFFLE TICKET REQUIREMENTS

1502.1 Tickets printed for raffles shall include the following:

(a) Name of the licensed organization listed on the license;

(b) Date, time, place, and exact address of the drawing;

(c) Prizes to be awarded;

(d) Aggregate value of the prizes;

(e) Cost of the raffle ticket;

(f) Purpose for which net proceeds will be used;

(g) Statement that the winner need not be present at the drawing to win;

(h) Appropriate odds of winning, assuming all raffle tickets printed are sold; and

(i) The phrase “Licensed by the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board.”

1502.2 Tickets shall have pre-printed consecutive numbers and a stub held by the licensed organization listing the name, address, and phone number of the person purchasing each ticket. This stub shall be used in the raffle draw.

1502.3 The price to the public of all tickets for any one raffle draw shall be in one fixed amount.

1502.4 Only United States currency or coin shall be accepted by a licensed organization as payment for any raffle ticket.

1502.5 Prior to the license being issued, but subsequent to Board approval of the application, the applicant shall provide a statement from the printer on a form provided by the Board stating the following:

(a) The total number of tickets to be printed;

(b) The first numbered ticket to be printed;

(c) The last numbered ticket to be printed; and

(d) That the tickets were numbered consecutively and that there were no duplications.

1502.6 Prior to the license being issued, but subsequent to Board approval of the application, the applicant shall provide to the Board the printer’s proof of the tickets.
SOURCE: Final Rulemaking published at 35 DCR 3788, 3811 (May 20, 1988).
HISTORICAL NOTE: Prior to May 20, 1988, the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board published Final Rulemaking at 29 DCR 5016, 5036 (November 12, 1982).

1503 RAFFLE DRAW

1503.1 The licensed organization shall guarantee each ticket a fair and equal chance at the draw.

Etc., etc.

Oops. Maybe they’d rather hold a bake sale except that Moochelle banned those cause of all the chunky little chirrens.

Any lawyers in the house? Just asking.

I try to keep my individual outrages in order. This particular one was from last week after the Commie-Media sued Wisconsin’s Gov. Walker for not producing thousands of e-mails for them to pour through – chop! chop! – within a couple of days of their request in a feeble attempt to claim he was lying about any sensible person rejecting the violent, sexual advances of union thugs towards the taxpayers. If I may paraphrase Joe Biden’s rapist view of policy differences.

Turns out, Walker was right:

Gov. Scott Walker was right: The angry crowds in Madison didn’t tell the whole story of how Wisconsinites felt.

In the week after Walker announced his plan to dramatically curtail public employees’ collective bargaining rights in the state budget repair bill, a wide majority of the emails to him expressed support, an analysis of those emails indicates.

Now let’s be sure to define Walker’s truth down so as to provide some measure of cover for their Brothers In Harms.

But that support was significantly boosted by emails from pro-Walker senders from outside Wisconsin.

It goes on much later to show an e-mail-by-e-mail vetting revealing such a wide margin (almost 2:1) within the state of Wisconsin as to dispatch any Leftist media assertion to the contrary.

And, oh, one more thing. Who took the tally of the “protesters” to see how many had been bussed in to support the Unionists? Seems they weren’t the voice of Wisconsin after all. Make that your headline.

Sue the unions to get the tally. Best believe they know every astroturfed ringer Cheesehead that got loaded onto the purple bus. The purple bus with professional squeaky wheels.

RELATED: It’s still my opinion that at least latently the purpose of the Commie-Media’s lawsuit was to get the names of the Anti-Union supporters to pass off to Unions for harassment purposes.

If just one name of the private correspondence sent to Walker is released then we know that the first motive of the lawsuit was to manufacture a pseudoscandal about Walker lying over support. The second is so more Union Police Officers can send threatening boycott letters to area businessmen to imply they won’t respond to their emergency calls.

The poor man’s Kennedys strike again. And the Chicago Thugocracy’s version of Michael Skakel is allowed to prowl the night once again free from consequence:

For the first time, the Chicago Police said Friday they know who hit David Koschman and knocked him to the ground in a drunken confrontation in the Rush Street area, leading to his death from a brain injury 11 days later — but they’re not telling.

They said they are closing Koschman’s 2004 homicide case without asking the Cook County state’s attorney’s office to charge anyone because they concluded the punch was thrown in self-defense.

Police reports made public Friday black out the name of the man who detectives concluded threw the lone punch at Koschman. But the descriptions they provided and accounts given by witnesses and others to the Chicago Sun-Times make clear it was Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko, a nephew of Mayor Daley and White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley.

This is where the civil trial should come in and rob Vanecko of his life and future earnings.

Vanecko, 36, has refused to speak to the police on the advice of his criminal-defense lawyers, including Terence Gillespie, according to the police.

He refused to talk to the police but they determined, without his input, that it was self-defense. That, my friends, is amazing. Usually when someone claims self-defense, they actually at some point assert that they feared for their life. The police generally don’t make up your alibi for you.

Fearful for his life no less, in this case, from an outnumbered and unarmed man with no history of violent behavior. Let’s look at that “fear for his life” argument:

In interviews with the Sun-Times, Koschman’s friends acknowledged that he was yelling but said he never ran at the other group and that he never physically threatened anyone. The 21-year-old from Mount Prospect stood 5-feet-5 and weighed 140 pounds. Vanecko was 6-feet-3 and 230 pounds at the time.

Guilty as hell, free as a bird. Notice a theme with these people yet?

A 6′ 3″, 230 lbs. 29 year old was terrified for his life (while being backed by several friends of comparable size) by a 140 lbs. 5′ 5″ 21 year old.

A state or federal prosecutor and internal affairs should immediately open an investigation into this miscarriage of justice. Or, Koschman’s family and friends should take matters into their own hands. The Chicago police have abdicated their moral and legal authority to do what is right.

In a post both unintentionally hilarious and unironically titled “Blindspot”, a crestfallen Bolshevik laments as to “why there aren’t more full bore socialist bloggers”. It’s hilarious on several fronts – aside from the supply and demand one that they generally never care much for on any level.

The End of the Left Spectrum just doesn’t have a voice it seems and a slew of big name blogcommies join in to explain why.

No one seems to have tripped over the answer so I’ll provide the Cliff’s Notes:

The national and alt-media subsidizes The Socialist in positions from editor, internet blogger, to research assistant, to columnist, announcer, coffee gaffer, etc. McCarthyite Blacklists have nothing on the traditional print and television media in the United States from hiring people on the Right.

The media in the U.S. has institutionalized Leftism. It’s our Rendellian Early Warning System. They’ve generously placed a yoke on their subhuman strength to harness their Stalinist aspirations for some useful (idiot) purpose. Every year, new Victor Navasky J-School grads till a barren field salted by their previous year’s failures for a wine, cheese and underage male escort stipend. When they “blog” it’s called “news reporting”.

The Rightwing Pegasus, however, can’t be broken so it still roams the prairie free.

Look no further than the Climategate e-mails from last year. It was religious blasphemy to even mention the story of purloined e-mails showing Global Warming as a complete and utter fraud in a prelude to one of the more brutal winters on record. We had to go to Britain to find the story because of the self-imposed blackout in the U.S.

BONUS QUESTION FROM THE COMMENTS: “But what about Krugman?”

Good question. Unlike his fellow socialists, Krugman is so uniquely and yet hurriedly wrong about everything that “the unit of measure for how wrong someone is” should be measured in Metric Krugmans.

Public Editor Watch: The NYT Public Editor comments on it’s atrocious AZ Shooter coverage and the name Krugman is nowhere to be found. Why were they so bad? Like the AZ shooter, it’s everybody else’s fault but their own. It’s the Internets fault. It’s “time’s” fault. You know, those things beyond the control of an editor.

/Because of 1440/7!

For two years, Victor Navasky operated surreptitiously as the editor of The Columbia Journalism Review before the country’s self-appointed arbiter of journalistic integrity felt obliged to mention that it was being steered by the then current editor of The Nation.

No one, save Hot Earther / Global Warmist scientists, could have predicted so accurately what types of “journalism” students he would be producing:

On Wednesday Village Voice editor Tony Ortega pulled an article from the Voice website after it came out that freelance reporter and recent Columbia grad Rob Sgobbo had fabricated the sources he quoted in the article and lied about his reporting.

Sgobbo is a young education reporter who also worked for the New York Daily News — they fired him today — and graduated from the prestigious (and very expensive) Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2010. In the past, Sgobbo has written for the Huffington Post, the Norwood News, and the Columbia News Service, among other publications.

The Huffington Post has since deleted his posts from the site. Spokesperson Mario Ruiz tells us: “Our policy is that when a blogger is found to have fabricated a story — either on our site or for another outlet — his or her posts automatically come down. We deleted Rob’s posts today in accordance with that policy.”

His Voice piece “For-Profit Blues“ examined how for-profit “proprietary” colleges were leaving low-income students without degrees and with high debts.

Those nasty “for-profit” colleges as opposed to those sacrosanct state schools that have been producing tomorrow’s leaders today out of the kindness of their taxpayer tenured hearts. Notice which direction Sgobbo’s perfidy leans. Protector of disadvantaged minorities in the class war. Where could this mindset have been incubated?

How dare you racists question the deceptive means of his Stalinist ends?

Central to the piece was a woman named “Tamicka Bourges,” who, according to Sgobbo, told him she had accumulated massive debts while attending Berkeley College, yet never obtained a degree.

In the article [cached version], “Bourges” is described as being “in tears,” and she was “dropping out of Berkeley with no degree and had $25,000 in student loan debt. She didn’t know what to do.”

When Susan Smith claims her kids were dumped in the river by a black man who carjacked her, it’s a hate crime. When Sgobbo claims that “for profit” colleges are taking advantage of black girls it’s just good journalism in the eternal struggle against institutional racism.

Thanks, Victor. Another shock troop in the class war fomenting racial animus makes good because it is so hard to find a student overwhelmed by college debt without making her a black, lesbian cripple who’s a veteran from Bush’s ill-founded wars against brown people.

Navasky is The Tree. And Sgobbo is most assuredly the fruit.
