We’ll all be eating dog food soon, so might as well get used to it. This is why the corruptocrats who run our country exclude food and gas when they calculate the rate of inflation. They know that most Americans are too busy with their finger in their own pie watching Glee to be bothered with discerning the difference.

The catastrophe in Japan continues. You may have noticed a lack of urgent coverage here, and that’s for several reasons. First, unlike so many other really important bloggers, we don’t claim to be a news site. A more important reason is that, besides the fact that thousands of people have died and entire towns have been reduced to rubble, the details of the nuclear crisis are truly unknown. We can speculate all day long, but there are too many conflicting reports to jump/not jump off a bridge. What we can do is donate to relief efforts and pray for the victims, if you’re so inclined.

Needless to say, with a world economy already teetering on the brink, this was the last thing Japan, or anybody else, needed.

Gas prices continue to skyrocket. Even chubby-chasing President Clifford says that he is in support of some new drilling. He also wants us to start drilling for our own oil. (rim shot)

The country-club Republicans in congress continue to demonstrate their spinelessness as the Donks have made them their bitches on “spending cuts” yet again. There is no urgency from either party on spending cuts, which is yet another reason why we are doomed to an economic catastrophe.

As Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., said before Tuesday’s House vote on the latest continuing resolution, “It’s time to take a stand for taxpayers and future generations. Things don’t change in Washington, D.C., until they have to. It will not be possible to put our fiscal house in order without a fight. By giving liberals in the Senate another three weeks of negotiations, we will only delay a confrontation that must come. I say, ‘Let it come now. It’s time to take a stand.’ … House Republicans need to tell liberals in the Senate, ‘This far and no further.’ Nobody wants a government shutdown, but unless we take a stand, we will shut down the future for our children and grandchildren.”

There are a small minority of Republicans in the House and Senate who get it, but their GOP brothers and sisters are too gutless to do what needs to be done. We need more a lot more Governor Walkers and a lot fewer Senator Alexanders.

In other, far less important news, the upcoming NFL season is in doubt. Apparently being paid millions to play a game is equal to slavery in this day and age. I love pro football, but I’d be fine with letting these overpaid asses sit at home for a year while we watch some XFL-style scabs beat each other up on the RedZone.

Gotta go. Lunch is ready.

BREAKING! COOTUS is fi’n to fill out his brackets! My money is on the top seed.

MORE(ON) GOP COWARDS: 54 House Republicans are ready for prime time. The rest? Sucking eggs all day.

Encouraged by conservative groups like the Heritage Foundation and the Club for Growth to oppose the bill, the GOP defectors complained that the three week extension did not withhold funding for the health care law, Planned Parenthood and other programs.

“I am convinced that a vote for the CR is a vote to not fight against ObamaCare,” Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann said in a statement encouraging other members to join her in opposition. “The time has come to take a stand.”

After the vote, Florida Rep. Allen West — a Tea Party-backed freshman member who voted against the measure — said he couldn’t support the bill in good faith.

“People have to be able to sleep with themselves. I know that I can look myself in the mirror and explain my vote very well to my constituents back in South Florida,” West said. “We have got to start making some of the hard choices and decisions. That’s adult leadership.”

Move over, Andrea Yates and Holly Ashcraft, the left has a new hero. It may be early in 2011, but it’s safe to say that Dr. Kermit Gosnell is the front-runner for NARAL’s Reproductive Rights Superstar of the Year.

WEST PHILADELPHIA – January 19, 2011 (WPVI) — A doctor whose abortion clinic was described as a filthy, foul-smelling “house of horrors” that was overlooked by regulators for years was charged Wednesday with murder, accused of delivering seven babies alive and then using scissors to kill them.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell was also charged with murder in the death of a woman who suffered an overdose of painkillers while awaiting an abortion.

That last woman was just a late-late-late-late-late term abortion, so pay that no mind.

“Doctor” Gosnell represents a kind of evil that is very difficult to comprehend, yet, at its core, is shared by so many. As a doctor (obviously very well versed in the right to choose), surely he knew that the loving left has magically discovered in the Constitution the right to partially deliver the baby, then use the scissors, making it all “safe, legal and rare,” right?

In a nearly 300-page grand jury report filled with ghastly, stomach-turning detail, prosecutors said Pennsylvania regulators ignored complaints of barbaric conditions at Gosnell’s clinic, which catered to poor, immigrant and minority women in the city’s impoverished West Philadelphia section.

Margaret Sanger is looking up and smiling at the good doctor, so proud that he is willing to continue the important genocidal work that she began so many years ago. I thought these were the kind of back-alley, coat-hanger clinics that would only exist after abortion was outlawed? This is all so confusing – and sickening.

Prosecutors said Gosnell made millions of dollars over three decades performing thousands of dangerous abortions, many of them illegal late-term procedures. His clinic had no trained nurses or medical staff other than Gosnell, a family physician not certified in obstetrics or gynecology, prosecutors said.

At least two women died from the procedures, while scores more suffered perforated bowels, cervixes and uteruses, authorities said.

It was a butcher shop, not a medical clinic, but protecting the rights of women is dirty work and somebody has to do it.

If you have a strong stomach and want a window into what evil looks like, read the whole thing. Whether you do or you don’t, pray for this sick, soulless country.

- Referencing the Constitution = murderous rightwing psychopath

- America’s junior colleges are now producing turbocharged rightwing psychopaths inspired by Marx, Bill Ayers and The Decemberists. Our nation’s John Birch Society dominated faculties must be stopped before someone else reads the Constitution without a license.

- Without any evidence that a suspect ever actually saw a webpage on a former Republican VP candidate’s PAC site, it is completely easy to connect-the-dots that the webpage is what caused him to go on a kill crazy rampage against a local Democrat candidate he supported.

- Anthropmorphic Rhetorical Warming caused by AM radio commentators and way-down-the-paycable dial, former political candidate reality shows are threatening our civic ozone layer and must be regulated by temperate leftwing bloggers who never raise their voices in anger or assign nefarious motives to their ideological opponents for political gain.

- Obama needed his Oklahoma City Bombing moment. Will using a dead 9 year old girl as a human shield to advance a national gun grab do or will Markos Moulitsas, Jane Hamsher and Charles Johnson activate their sleeper cells on an elementary school a la the Beslan Massacre.

- As the head Sheriff of Pima County, AZ, it is perfectly acceptable to wildly speculate about the motivations behind a killer, whose identity you do not know, to deflect attention from you failing at your job. When revealed what the motivations are – you do not have to apologize to the people you wrongfully accused. They were thinking it regardless of whether they acted on it. (ed. – Also applies to New York Times, New York Daily News, Washington Post, CNN and MSNBC commentators).

- Sarah Palin is the Kevin Bacon of Tragedy. Everything that’s wrong in the world is her fault no matter how tangentially related.

Including this post.

The entire leftwing media complex that’s been calling you a teabagging faggot for the past year or so is suddenly incensed that one stray voice in a crowd of thousands may have called an actual faggot “a faggot”:

A CNN producer overheard the word “faggot” yelled at Frank several times in the lobby of the Longworth building. Frank said he heard someone yell “homo” at him.

So you’re saying that calling someone a “faggot” is now a slur but when you use it it’s okay because you’re using a euphemism?

If that were true and these TEA Party protests were really just an excuse for people who a hate a black president to express themselves under the guise of anti-taxes / anti-socialist takeovers that would make it acceptable as well, correct?

When John Edwards was having his well-known affair, that the press dutifully covered-up, I used to always hear that no one had any video evidence to support the charges so he was innocent until we had video and audio to support such slanderous accusations. All accusations must be witnessed, notarized and apostilled. And then The National Enquirer did.

Take Clyburn’s well publicized claim from yesterday that a “chorus” of protesters were calling him a “nigger”.

I led the first demonstrations in South Carolina, the sit ins… And quite frankly I heard some things today I have not heard since that day. I heard people saying things that I have not heard since March 15, 1960 when I was marching to try and get off the back of the bus.“

Yet now it’s Clyburn who is ordering hundreds of millions of people to the back of the bus while the government turns it’s hoses of slander in the mainstream press on protesters to accuse them of being racists and faggots. It’s tragic that we can measure how far we’ve come as a society in irony.

The real Faux News is on the Left. Here’s the video evidence of Clyburn walking by the protesters who he said were screaming nigger at him “in chorus” no less.

Expect Clyburn to hang a noose in the men’s room later today before running in front of the cameras to decry the acrid atmosphere in Washington caused by the protesters.

What that protest needs is everyone locking arms and singing “We Shall Overcome” to Mr. Clyburn.

Absent from the discussion on The Ugly Tone ™ of protests in Washington was any mention of Cindy Shitcan and Ralph Nader’s protesting of the victory in Iraq where they symbolically murdered Dick Cheney in the streets:

The protest drew a smaller crowd than the tens of thousands who marched in 2006 and 2007.

Protesters stopped at the offices of military contractor Halliburton — where they tore apart an effigy of former Vice President and Halliburton Chief Executive Dick Cheney — the Mortgage Bankers Association and The Washington Post offices.

When confronted with Obama’s continued War For Oil in Iraq, elevation of hostilities in Afghanistan, and love of killing civilians with drone attacks in Pakistan, fellow moonbats found him to have an acceptable amount of blood on his hands:

“He’s kept Guantanamo open, he’s continued to use indefinite detention,” Nader said. The only real difference, he said, is that “Obama’s speeches are better.”

Others were more conciliatory toward Obama. Shirley Allan of Silver Spring, Md., carried a sign that read, “President Obama We love you but we need to tell you! Your hands are getting bloody!! Stop it now.”

Allan thought it was going too far to call Obama a war criminal but said she is deeply disappointed that the conflicts are continuing.

“He has to know it’s unacceptable,” Allan said. “I am absolutely disappointed.”

Again, their condemnation is not so much selective as it is transparent in political convenience.

His hands are “getting bloody” from wars. If Shirley would kindly notice, his hands were already bloody from a lifetime of being wrist deep in dead babies.

Stuart Schwartz at the American Thinker has penned a scathing takedown of Peggy Noonan’s obsession with Sarah Palin. It is absolutely brilliant.

It’s brilliant because it’s beautifully written and spot on, but it is also brilliant because it nails the liberal country-club leadership of the GOP in the process. Noonan is one of the standard-bearers of the elitist, liberal, big-spending Republican party – the anti-Jim Demint, if you will. It cannot be denied, Peggy is skullcrushingly jealous of Sarah Palin, and simply can’t tolerate us rubes in flyover country, period.

You’re Peggy Noonan and you’re jealous. But it’s not the normal kind of jealous, the kind reserved for girlfriends who can squeeze into size 2 jeans. No, it’s the kind of jealous that hurts, that grabs your gut and twists, that has you howling with rage into your pillow in the middle of the night, screaming “It’s not fair” like a two-year-old denied another piece of cake. It is Sarah Palin jealous…and it is consuming you.
…
And, what’s worse, everyone continues to talk about her. You’ve tried everything, using your mainstream media platforms, your Wall Street Journal columns, and powerful friends — so many of them — to savage her, to give her a rhetorical beating so fierce that it would bring a smile to the face of Vince McMahon — if you knew who he is, and if you had ever watched a WWE wrestling match, which he heads. “She is a complete elite confection. She might as well have been a bonbon,” you wrote, your $300 manicured fingers shaking on the keyboard.

Can’t you just visualize Peggy sitting down at her Mac laptop, sipping an $8 Starbucks latte, eyes filled with rage and disbelief that someone left the servants’ door open, allowing this weapon-wielding guttersnipe into the comfy, elitist confines of the GOP?

You’re Peggy Noonan and you’re jealous. You don’t understand it. Sure, maybe she has accomplished a few things (like the $26 billion dollar natural gas pipeline deal, restructuring Alaskan government, and taking an ice pick to corrupt politicians). But she has no style, no pizzazz — she just does stuff. But so do you — and you can’t understand why you don’t get the same adoration. After all, didn’t you go before the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission and not just protest, but elegantly protest — so said The New York Times — a 16-story tower a developer wanted to build in your ritzy Upper East Side Manhattan neighborhood? Sarah Palin wouldn’t have done that; she’s not brilliant enough to understand preservation. She probably would have looked at the jobs the construction would create and given it a déclassé “Hell yeah!”
…
You’re Peggy Noonan and you’re jealous. Your “beyond the mundane” co-founders — “buds” as the Sarah Palin types so crassly put it-for your new venture are the essence of your kind of middle America: they include “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl; actresses Candice Bergen (actress, Democratic and Planned Parenthood spokesperson), Whoopi Goldberg (dropped by advertisers after a nasty Bush joke at a Democratic fundraiser and then hired by The View, a Barbara Walters talk show on ABC ), and Marlo Thomas (a major Democratic donor who is married to Bush-hater Phil Donahue), your type of conservatives, which puts them a bit to the right of Hugo Chavez. But after a year the audience is less than 20 percent of what you defined as success, your investors are worried, and the same women who pack Sarah Palin rallies are ignoring your venture, which features such pieces as “Michelle Obama’s Scintillating Style” and “French Fashion Designers Churn Out Stylish Burqhas.”

As we always say – and this time I really mean it – READ THE WHOLE THING.

Speaking of the elitists in the GOP, who want to keep liberal Republicans like Charlie Crist and John McCain in power, they will be none-too-pleased to know that actual conservative Pat Toomey has pulled into a tie with former-RINO Snarlin’ Arlen Sphincter in PA. Now if Marco Rubio can gain some traction in Florida, we can really get a GOP purge underway.
