Hrmmm…why should we cutoff all funding for the UN? Gee, it’s so hard to think of a better example:

Details have emerged of huge casualty figures in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where troops have launched a brutal crackdown on protesters.

More than 200 people are known to have died, doctors say, with 900 injured.

The most bloody attacks were reported over the weekend, as funeral marches were said to have come under machine-gun and heavy weapons fire.

One doctor, speaking amid the sound of fresh gunfire on Sunday, told the BBC that “a real massacre” had happened.

For the ADHD set, Libya was anointed the Chair of the UN Human Rights Commission a few years ago in a secret ballot of like-minded dictatorships:

While human rights groups have complained, Libya’s chairing of the commission has been staunchly defended by the son of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

Seif al-Islam al-Gaddafi told the BBC recently: “The Middle East has a generally bad record on human rights and this is an opportunity to embarrass middle eastern governments into improving that record”.

How embarrassing. With 200 dead and 900 injured, I can’t help but wonder how many of the injured owe their lives to snipers blushing from all the embarrassment.

An open request to the British Press. In addition to absolutely kicking the arse of your counterparts in the American unofficially state-run media on the subject of so-called “climate change” – your next story should be about how and why they have ignored this story completely.

Call them up. Interview them. Get them on the record as to how this story that you all are exploiting, like the fabled last oil reserve buried deep in a caribou’s hindquarters, is nary worth a mention by our Rip Van Winkle Press.
The guy who spends his whole life thinking about how to screw people in the ass has a plan to stop the ebbs and flows of the global market with some prescription-strength Astroglide applied liberally. Yea, yea, yea. A hammer sees every problem as a nail.

QOTD from the prolapsed Prole himself:

Rep. Barney Frank (D., Mass.) said that a bank tax and other tough new measures would be introduced by the individual countries, but in a coordinated way to prevent bankers from moving from one place to another to escape regulation.

“Lenin might have been able to put socialism in one country, but tough bank regulation in one country ain’t going to happen because we will lose people,” said Frank, who heads the House Financial Services Committee, a key spot for any American decisions.

You have the head of the House Financial Services Committee arguing in favor of Global Leninism.

You can go ahead and pull your money out of the stock market now.

Germany celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall last night. Children today may remember that event as the joyful mutual end of years smart diplomacy whereby US hegemony was imposed at the barrel of a gun on native East German peoples who prospered during the Soviet Golden Age.

In actuality, it stemmed from peace through strength and not compromising basic American principles coupled with a President willing to call Evil by it’s name to it’s face. In honor of the collapse of the Soviets who cordoned off half of Europe and consigned millions to death, prison and poverty, Barack Obama stood them up so he could work in a few rounds of golf:

Angela Merkel, Germany’s first chancellor from the former communist East, recalled the euphoria in an address last week to the U.S. Congress.

“Where there was once only a dark wall, a door suddenly opened and we all walked through it: onto the streets, into the churches, across the borders,” Merkel said. “Everyone was given the chance to build something new, to make a difference, to venture a new beginning.”

That’s what you call real “hope and change”.

When reached for comment, President Icarus responded:

“We are now moving towards the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down and Germany being reunified after so many painful years,” Obama said. “And this is a special moment for Chancellor Merkel, as somebody who grew up in East Germany, who understands what it’s like to be under the shadow of a dictatorial regime, and to see how freedom has bloomed in Germany, how it has become the centerpiece for a extraordinarily strong European Union.”

So many “painful years”. Like living with arthritis. The only good thing about German reunification is it began to pave the path for One World Government. That was what that wall falling was all about.

Trading one dictatorial regime of paranoid murderers to surrender your hard fought sovereignty to a bunch of foreign bureaucrats.

That wall represented The Cold War. Hundreds of billions spent on a strong military so that tens of millions wouldn’t have to die in a Hot War. Decades of working and fighting through proxies so that an expansive Soviet regime couldn’t get a foothold in Southeast Asia as well as Central America.

It’s understandable that Barack Hussein Obama would not want to take part in the celebration of the defeat and rejection of his Communist ideals and heroes while his job of building the next wall is in progress.

In the new Queen Zsa Zsa version of The Bible (Simon & Schuster), being written while we wait, today is a beautiful day for us to be alive – spiritual peasants though we are – for in 3 days time. He will Rise again. And we will see His Brilliance and laugh at our foolishness for trying to tame His Spirit:

Thank you, Glenn Beck. By helping force the resignation of Van Jones, you have done a great service to your country. But in the exact opposite way than what you intended.

Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror.

Strike me down and I will become more powerful than you can imagine.

Actually Zsa Zsa, dear, the worst miscasting was you playing the title role of “Wife” in the soap opera known as The Wedding of Arianna and Michael Huffington.

Contrary to the media caricature, the real Van Jones is a thoughtful leader who knows how to use words to move people to action. To stick him behind a desk, working out the details of tax credits for green jobs — incredibly important though the job is — was never the best use of his unique and abundant skills.

What a coincidence. I feel exactly the same way about one Barry Hussein Carter-Obonga. He would really be better suited giving marching orders than leading a democracy. Democracy’s are messy. And if I am to believe what the Vice President of the Hair Club for Men says, he’s also a rather clean fellow.

I’ve watched him hold an audience spellbound at a wide range of events — from progressive gatherings to the World Economic Forum.

Which is like running the gamut from A, all the way to B.

And I’ve never failed to be impressed by Van. He is a remarkable man. One of the things I’ve always found so impressive about him — and something completely lost in the partisan mudslinging — is his ability to build coalitions and create unlikely alliances. In pursuit of a clean energy future for America, Van has successfully brought together urban youth with clean-tech entrepreneurs, labor leaders with business leaders, civil rights activists with environmentalists.

Foxes and henhouses. Matches with gas. Xanax with Ex-lax.

I wrote about how the staid and anything-but-radical heads of the World Economic Forum had invited him to their conference and honored him as a “Global Leader for Tomorrow.” Jones had been protesting the World Trade Organization in Seattle and the International Monetary Fund in Washington. But that didn’t keep him from exchanging ideas with the rich and powerful at the Forum, or from keeping an open mind.

“The people I’ve met here,” Van told me at the time, “are much more thoughtful, complex, and concerned about social issues than either the left or the media portray them to be.”

And I’m sure no small honorarium to a mutually beneficial foundation couldn’t help grease the wheels to understanding how much more thoughtful, complex and for a negotiated rate concerned that the “rich and powerful” can be. This is a global shakedown racket.

Isn’t it time we acknowledge that no human being with any passion and deeply held beliefs ever emerged flawless into the world? And that if every mistake, misstep, boneheaded decision, or error in judgment becomes an automatic disqualifier for public service, then we’re going to be left with a political landscape filled with nothing but wrinkle-free, foible-free, passionless automatons who have never made a mistake because they never took the risk of having an original thought.

Who hasn’t made a rap LP with one of our nation’s most notorious copkillers? These kinds of “foibles” do just happen. Admitting on video that you’re using the pretext of “environmentalism” as a means to transfer wealth and overthrow the capitalist system in stages to fight whitey as he’s poisoning the black community….oh well.

Who can’t appreciate that level of candor? *sniff* At least he’s not dead inside like the rest of you. *sob*
(hurls third glass of Chardonnay against the wall)

Glenn Beck has taken Van out of his in-the-shadows position and thrust him into the spotlight. I told Van after his resignation that I hope he will take the extra attention and energy Beck created for him and, like a jujitsu black belt, turn the blow into an opening, an opportunity to transform the negative attack into something positive for himself and for the country.

Kind of like a woman who was taking her gay pretend Republican husband to the cleaners and parlayed that personal celebrity wreckage into one of the highest ranked leftwing websites today.

Never miss an opportunity to exploit a crisis.

The lecture tour awaits. Now get back out there and start saying all the crazy stuff that got you just apologized for.

I’m confused when I hear people talk about Obama sending mixed messages. He is in no way inconsistent.

Whether you are referring to Iran, or Israel or Honduras, he is objectively anti-democracy.

There is no line you can cross that is so offensive that we won’t still sit down and chat about how you’re feeling as Father Oprah. Make threats that you’re going to attack us. Fire missiles towards our states. Threaten war. Threaten death to our country. Send your troops to attack our troops because they are bringing democracy in your backyard.

In terms of arrogance, you can’t get much better than patting a rogue dictator on the head while asking him why’s he acting out so much as if he had too much Capri Sun before beddy-bye time.

And the Honduras thing. Just read this. In the Christian Science Monitor of all places. It is a sad time to be an American when the mistake our misguided neighbors and family members elected to office is suppressing democracy in favor of a Marxist thug and is attempting to install him back to his wrongful place.

And so the United States now finds itself in league with the likes of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, the latter of whom has threatened war on the nascent Honduran government. In his weekly newspaper column, Castro gloated about American support for Zelaya, writing that “Even Mrs. Clinton had declared that Zelaya is the only president of Honduras, and the Honduran coup leaders can’t even breathe without the support of the United States.”

This is nothing short of wrong. Our country’s support of Zelaya is sentencing Honduras to Venezuela’s fate. Siding with Castro to boot while he taunts the people who followed the rules against his protege.

If the Honduran people can fight off the advances of the so-called civilized world, maybe we can recruit some of them to help take our’s back.

It’s too obvious the people who call themselves Republicans don’t have the guts of the dirt poor Hondurans who are at least fighting off the advances of a dictator drunk with power.

Dear Leader and his D.C. crime family are ready to team up with their third-world heroes at the U.N. to take away even more of your parental rights – including the right to homeschool, discipline and make even the most pedestrian decisions about your child’s education and healthcare. And, surprise, surprise, the UN treaty was originally signed by Government Gargoyle Madeliene Halfbright way back in 1995, but never ratified. They’ve got the deck stacked now, though.

A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families’ religion is on America’s doorstep, a legal expert warns.

Michael Farris of Purcellville, Va., is president of ParentalRights.org, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association and chancellor of Patrick Henry College. He told WND that under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, or CRC, every decision a parent makes can be reviewed by the government to determine whether it is in the child’s best interest.

“It’s definitely on our doorstep,” he said. “The left wants to make the Obama-Clinton era permanent. Treaties are a way to make it as permanent as stuff gets. It is very difficult to extract yourself from a treaty once you begin it. If they can put all of their left-wing socialist policies into treaty form, we’re stuck with it even if they lose the next election.”

Their plan has always been to get control of your kids as early as possible so that they can be indoctrinated and warped to usurp the structure of the traditional family. It’s gone well, hasn’t it, teachers’ unions? A few gems:

Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.

A murderer aged 17 years, 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.

Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.

The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent’s decision.

A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.

According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children’s welfare.

Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.

Christian schools that refuse to teach “alternative worldviews” and teach that Christianity is the only true religion “fly in the face of article 29″ of the treaty.

Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

It’s a brave new world. Contact your Senators now before this even gets close. They need to be aware that we know this shit is coming down the pike.

Come on, baby. And I thought we had a good time the other night. I was all up in your Kool-Aid. You were helping me mix mine. Don’t say you didn’t feel it too:

Obama Calls on U.N. to Punish North Korea Over Rocket

PRAGUE — President Obama said that North Korea violated international rules when it tested a rocket that could be used for long range missiles, and called on the Security Council to take action.

“This provocation underscores the need for action—not just this afternoon at the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons,” Mr. Obama said. “Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something.”

Citing a recent internal U.N. poll, Secretary Bunky Moon notes that only 43% of members felt that “rules must be binding” while a crowded lunch table of 7% felt that words must mean something. A staggering 82% felt we should invade Israel for having to answer this question in the first place.

In response to Mr. Obama’s calls to “do something”, the Secretary has asked several countries to volunteer setting up a scam foreign aid delegation to Pyongyang and commissioned a census of potential child refugees to entice other U.N. members to help in prospect of trading sex for food or medical care.

There’s a reason we refer to the TSA as “Thousands Standing Around”. They are worthless. This is the end result of another one of Bush’s mistakes (turning airport screeners into Federal employees) and here is a prime example of the power trips these little Napoleons engage in regularly. Most of us have experienced this on some level or another.

It didn’t help that this guy is a Ron Paul supporter and, therefore, according to Missouri state officials, a potential terrorist. He might have even had subversive literature on him – you know, the Constitution, the Bible, the Federalist Papers – OH CALAMITY!

UPDATE:

The MANDATORY VOLUNTEERISM part of this bill is not gone, they just moved it to house bill HR 1444. The bill text is here. The mandatory language and “four year service academy” language are all back.

Big surprise, now we have another bill to fight. You know what to do.

The so-called “Give” act – the bill that aims to create an army of 250,000 paid “volunteers” that will be an additional Dim-O-Crack voting bloc – has passed the Senate with the loving endorsement of many, many RINOs, including our own embarrassment, very special Senator Lamar Alexander.

On the bright side, Senator Corker was on the right side of this one, so I’ve just called to thank him for his vote. We have to give them props when they do the right thing, which means there will rarely be a need to call and thank Lamar! for his votes.

We’ve been covering it, as has Malkin.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find federal legislation titled “The GIVE Act” and “The SERVE Act” downright creepy. Even more troubling: The $6 billion price tag on these bipartisan bills to expand government-funded national service efforts. Volunteerism is a wonderful thing, which is why millions of Americans do it every day without a cent of taxpayer money. But the volunteerism packages on the Hill are less about promoting effective charity than about creating make-work, permanent bureaucracies, and left-wing slush funds.

The House passed the “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act” – or the GIVE Act – last week. The Senate took up the companion “SERVE Act” Tuesday afternoon. According to a Congressional Budget Office analysis of the Senate bill, S. 277, the bill would cost “$418 million in 2010 and about $5.7 billion over the 2010-2014 period.” And like most federal programs, these would be sure to grow over time. The bills reauthorize the Clinton-era Americorps boondoggle program and an older law, the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973.

Read the whole thing. The bill will now go to be reconciled by both houses of congress, where they will slip in even more spending and likely put the “mandatory volunteerism” clause back into it. Why? Because they know you aren’t paying attention. Or are you?

Here are your good guys in the Senate, at least on this bill:
