Details have emerged of huge casualty figures in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where troops have launched a brutal crackdown on protesters.

More than 200 people are known to have died, doctors say, with 900 injured.

The most bloody attacks were reported over the weekend, as funeral marches were said to have come under machine-gun and heavy weapons fire.

One doctor, speaking amid the sound of fresh gunfire on Sunday, told the BBC that “a real massacre” had happened.

While human rights groups have complained, Libya’s chairing of the commission has been staunchly defended by the son of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

Seif al-Islam al-Gaddafi told the BBC recently: “The Middle East has a generally bad record on human rights and this is an opportunity to embarrass middle eastern governments into improving that record”.

How embarrassing.  With 200 dead and 900 injured, I can’t help but wonder how many of the injured owe their lives to snipers blushing from all the embarrassment.

So many “painful years”.  Like living with arthritis.  The only good thing about German reunification is it began to pave the path for One World Government.  That was what that wall falling was all about.

Trading one dictatorial regime of paranoid murderers to surrender your hard fought sovereignty to a bunch of foreign bureaucrats.

That wall represented The Cold War.  Hundreds of billions spent on a strong military so that tens of millions wouldn’t have to die in a Hot War.  Decades of working and fighting through proxies so that an expansive Soviet regime couldn’t get a foothold in Southeast Asia as well as Central America.

It’s understandable that Barack Hussein Obama would not want to take part in the celebration of the defeat and rejection of his Communist ideals and heroes while his job of building the next wall is in progress.

Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror.

Contrary to the media caricature, the real Van Jones is a thoughtful leader who knows how to use words to move people to action. To stick him behind a desk, working out the details of tax credits for green jobs — incredibly important though the job is — was never the best use of his unique and abundant skills.

What a coincidence.  I feel exactly the same way about one Barry Hussein Carter-Obonga.  He would really be better suited giving marching orders than leading a democracy.  Democracy’s are messy.  And if I am to believe what the Vice President  of the Hair Club for Men says, he’s also a rather clean fellow.

I’ve watched him hold an audience spellbound at a wide range of events — from progressive gatherings to the World Economic Forum.

Which is like running the gamut from A, all the way to B.

And I’ve never failed to be impressed by Van. He is a remarkable man. One of the things I’ve always found so impressive about him — and something completely lost in the partisan mudslinging — is his ability to build coalitions and create unlikely alliances. In pursuit of a clean energy future for America, Van has successfully brought together urban youth with clean-tech entrepreneurs, labor leaders with business leaders, civil rights activists with environmentalists.

Foxes and henhouses.  Matches with gas.  Xanax with Ex-lax.

I wrote about how the staid and anything-but-radical heads of the World Economic Forum had invited him to their conference and honored him as a “Global Leader for Tomorrow.” Jones had been protesting the World Trade Organization in Seattle and the International Monetary Fund in Washington. But that didn’t keep him from exchanging ideas with the rich and powerful at the Forum, or from keeping an open mind.

“The people I’ve met here,” Van told me at the time, “are much more thoughtful, complex, and concerned about social issues than either the left or the media portray them to be.”

And I’m sure no small honorarium to a mutually beneficial foundation couldn’t help grease the wheels to understanding how much  more thoughtful, complex and for a negotiated rate concerned that the “rich and powerful” can be.  This is a global shakedown racket.

Isn’t it time we acknowledge that no human being with any passion and deeply held beliefs ever emerged flawless into the world? And that if every mistake, misstep, boneheaded decision, or error in judgment becomes an automatic disqualifier for public service, then we’re going to be left with a political landscape filled with nothing but wrinkle-free, foible-free, passionless automatons who have never made a mistake because they never took the risk of having an original thought.

Who hasn’t made a rap LP with one of our nation’s most notorious copkillers?  These kinds of “foibles” do just happen.  Admitting on video that you’re using the pretext of “environmentalism” as a means to transfer wealth and overthrow the capitalist system in stages to fight whitey as he’s poisoning the black community….oh well.

Who can’t appreciate that level of candor?   *sniff* At least he’s not dead inside like the rest of you. *sob*

Glenn Beck has taken Van out of his in-the-shadows position and thrust him into the spotlight. I told Van after his resignation that I hope he will take the extra attention and energy Beck created for him and, like a jujitsu black belt, turn the blow into an opening, an opportunity to transform the negative attack into something positive for himself and for the country.

Kind of like a woman who was taking her gay pretend Republican husband to the cleaners and parlayed that personal celebrity wreckage into one of the highest ranked leftwing websites today.

And the Honduras thing.  Just read this.  In the Christian Science Monitor of all places.  It is a sad time to be an American when the mistake our misguided neighbors and family members elected to office is suppressing democracy in favor of a Marxist thug and is attempting to install him back to his wrongful place.

And so the United States now finds itself in league with the likes of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, the latter of whom has threatened war on the nascent Honduran government. In his weekly newspaper column, Castro gloated about American support for Zelaya, writing that “Even Mrs. Clinton had declared that Zelaya is the only president of Honduras, and the Honduran coup leaders can’t even breathe without the support of the United States.”

This is nothing short of wrong.   Our country’s support of Zelaya is sentencing Honduras to Venezuela’s fate.  Siding with Castro to boot while he taunts the people who followed the rules against his protege.

If the Honduran people can fight off the advances of the so-called civilized world, maybe we can recruit some of them to help take our’s back.

It’s too obvious the people who call themselves Republicans don’t have the guts of the dirt poor Hondurans who are at least fighting off the advances of a dictator drunk with power.

Their plan has always been to get control of your kids as early as possible so that they can be indoctrinated and warped to usurp the structure of the traditional family. It’s gone well, hasn’t it, teachers’ unions? A few gems:

Obama Calls on U.N. to Punish North Korea Over Rocket

PRAGUE — President Obama said that North Korea violated international rules when it tested a rocket that could be used for long range missiles, and called on the Security Council to take action.

“This provocation underscores the need for action—not just this afternoon at the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons,” Mr. Obama said. “Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something.”

Citing a recent internal U.N. poll, Secretary Bunky Moon notes that only 43% of members felt that “rules must be binding” while a crowded lunch table of 7% felt that words must mean something.  A staggering 82% felt we should invade Israel for having to answer this question in the first place.

In response to Mr. Obama’s calls to “do something”, the Secretary has asked several countries to volunteer setting up a scam foreign aid delegation to Pyongyang and commissioned a census of potential child refugees to entice other U.N. members to help in prospect of trading sex for food or medical care.

It didn’t help that this guy is a Ron Paul supporter and, therefore, according to Missouri state officials, a potential terrorist. He might have even had subversive literature on him – you know, the Constitution, the Bible, the Federalist Papers – OH CALAMITY!

The MANDATORY VOLUNTEERISM part of this bill is not gone, they just moved it to house bill HR 1444. The bill text is here. The mandatory language and “four year service academy” language are all back.

Big surprise, now we have another bill to fight. You know what to do.

The so-called “Give” act – the bill that aims to create an army of 250,000 paid “volunteers” that will be an additional Dim-O-Crack voting bloc – has passed the Senate with the loving endorsement of many, many RINOs, including our own embarrassment, very special Senator Lamar Alexander.

On the bright side, Senator Corker was on the right side of this one, so I’ve just called to thank him for his vote. We have to give them props when they do the right thing, which means there will rarely be a need to call and thank Lamar! for his votes.

Read the whole thing. The bill will now go to be reconciled by both houses of congress, where they will slip in even more spending and likely put the “mandatory volunteerism” clause back into it. Why? Because they know you aren’t paying attention. Or are you?
