Yup, as a UT alumnus the thing that puzzled me the most was the adoration of the athletes. It was nuts and probably still is – full grown adults going bonkers over athletes that one never saw in regular class. We had one guy who was on the football team, but didn’t make the traveling team. Other than that – never did see them on campus.

It’s a distraction from what an educational institution should be about. I for one do not care at all how the Vols do in any endeavor – women’s basketball, football, basketball, track or whatever. It’s a small version of America and Dancing with the Stars or whatever, none of it good.

Just stumbled across this via Twitter and by God its good to see people calling this stuff what it is to its face. Somehow I, as a middle-class white male of voting age am supposed to have the easiest ticket in the world to get where I wanna go in life. Yet, thanks to our ‘Political Heroes’ every law and quota they can think of gets passed to hinder me in the name of equality.
