And with McCain at a spritely 81 years old, we have a good chance at getting a real woman president rather than a bulldozer in a pantsuit.

It would make the 2012 election fun too as the “hey vote for me because if you don’t you are a sexist” would fall flat.

Yeah, I think I’ll make it to the polls this Nov.

And how much foreign policy experience does Barry have?

Our country is chopped full of towns of 9000 good people. If they start attacking on this basis, they are making a mistake.

I’m not so sure that a pro-life candidate of either sex will win any Hillary supporters. What this is, is McCain’s final recognition that conservatives are also voters.

Politically, I think she is an excellent choice. However, that is also part of my concern. Is this merely an effort to win over the Hillary supporters who are scared to death of the Obamessiah?

Yes, a half-term freshman governor is better than a half-term freshman senator. Governor, like vice-president, is an administrative position. Senator is a legislative position, and experience in the legislature has nothing to do with qualifications for an administrative position.
And the half-term freshman governor is running for the secondary position, which will give her time to learn. The half-term freshman senator is running for the top position, about which he knows exactly zero.

You must be kidding, E. I suppose community organizer and part-time state senator is better? I’d rather have an actual conservative who has worked in the private sector and taken on her own party’s corruption in Alaska on her way to becoming Governor. No contest. I’d rather have her on top of the ticket (pun intended), but I’m very pleasantly surprised with the pick. I’m seeing President Palin in 2012. I’d be way down with that.

She’s an ok choice. She’s only a first term governor who (if elected) will have to resign her post. Is a half-term freshman governor better than a half-term freshman senator?

Granted, I am very much politically aligned with Gov Palin and she is pretty damn good-looking. Putting that aside, is she really prepared for the VP position?
