If Democrats only pass this monstrosity through the House with 219 votes, they will have socialized 1/6 of our economy on the thinnest of majorities.

Even with an open invitation to bribery, they couldn’t muster 1% above the bare minimum to support the bill that they wrote.

How pathetic.

Welcome to the perpetual unemployment line, America. You voted for it.

50.3% practicing Don’t-Look-Down Obamanomics.

While Treasuries backed by the full faith and credit of the government typically yield less than corporate debt, the relationship has flipped as Moody’s Investors Service predicts the U.S. will spend more on debt service as a percentage of revenue this year than any other top-rated country except the U.K. America will use about 7 percent of taxes for debt payments in 2010 and almost 11 percent in 2013, moving “substantially” closer to losing its AAA rating, Moody’s said last week.

That is absurd. 11% to debt service. But what’s it all mean, Basil???

Imagine Uncle Sam taking his beat up jalopy to TitleMax and cashing his check at the liquor store.

It means - How many more “unexpected” jobs reports do you think you’re going to see before you learn to expect high unemployment? Even Administration Lackey Gheitner admitted as much. That was before this bill. This bill is a death sentence for small businesses looking to hire.

You can always count on good, ole Coop. Just a simple country boy who used to carry around the federal budget and wave it in everybody’s faces during the Bush years complaining about that thar spendin’ in Warshington.

I woke up this Sunday morning, said my prayers, and finally decided that I will vote YES on health care reform.

Having heard from tens of thousands of Middle Tennesseans on all sides of the issue (including the flood of messages in the last few days and hours), and having spent months studying the various bills, I know that America must improve its health care system because it is unsustainable. This legislation will make it better.

You can almost see him in his jammies kneelin’ by the bedside sayin’ his prayers. He just now decided. What a coward.

And sweet Baby Jesus said, thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods. Oh, wait! Wrong verse. You shall not steal? Nope.

Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.. Un-uh. Does this weekend count? You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Eh, forget it. The Bible says a lot of stuff but Reverend Jim “Jones” Cooper’s on the mic and mixin’ up a pitcher of that old school funk.

Although CBO claims that the legislation will reduce deficits in the first ten years by over $100 billion, and by over $1 trillion after that, you don’t have to believe CBO to realize that, even if you assume zero deficit reduction, this is a huge improvement in the policymaking of recent years. In plain English, this bill is paid for, and may even save big money.

And when your wife buys $400 worth of shoes that were on sale, you actually saved big money.

I am well aware of the fact that this is a big vote, and perhaps a career-limiting decision.

You said it. You may have fended off some weak, leftwing primary challenger (who will in all likelihood dropout now) but you’ve lost your seat.

You know who the real losers today are? If you guessed people on the Right who didn’t sellout any semblance of principle by signing on to the most expensive entitlement program in human history chances are you’re already auditioning for a communications job for Obama:

A huge part of the blame for today’s disaster attaches to conservatives and Republicans ourselves (ed. – what’s this “ourselves” shit, kimosabe?).

At the beginning of this process we made a strategic decision: unlike, say, Democrats in 2001 when President Bush proposed his first tax cut, we would make no deal with the administration. No negotiations, no compromise, nothing. We were going for all the marbles. This would be Obama’s Waterloo – just as healthcare was Clinton’s in 1994.

This time, when we went for all the marbles, we ended with none.

…

Could a deal have been reached? Who knows? But we do know that the gap between this plan and traditional Republican ideas is not very big. The Obama plan has a broad family resemblance to Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts plan.

Frum’s shameful joy overlooks the usual gaggle of weak-kneed, northeastern liberal Republicans and Lispy Graham who are quick to roll over and slap an asscheek in pursuit of some one-way jackhammer bipartisanship.

That’s certainly one way to describe a bill so odious that the President had to shove a feeding tube down his own party’s throat filled with dirty Chicago politics in pursuit of an anorexic, one vote win. Really. He had to bribe his own people to vote for the bill they wrote alone in secret.

Everybody start listening to that Frum guy. And rent Stalag 17 while you’re at it.

Live on Fox right now. Stupak, who has “always been for health care reform” just said that he’ll accept an executive order that bans federal funding for abortion after the bill is passed. His vote is now bought and paid for.

Marcy Kaptur takes the stage and says that with universal health-care, abortions rates will drop because (I think) that a person who now has access to free healthcare will not abort a child because they are now covered.

Also, she is pro-life – the life of working families, women and the disembodied spirit of Margaret Sanger.

How hard is it to say that you’re wrong? I imagine it all depends on how many paragraphs of qualifying statements you go through before you get to it.

What’s pathetic is that in the course of posting notice that NY Times editors are considering running a correction because of their characterization of James O’Keefe’s clothes during the ACORN scandal that Clark Hoyt repeats an out-and-out lie about O’Keefe’s candid camera situation with Mary Landrieu:

I could not reach O’Keefe — who is facing federal criminal charges of tampering with a Democratic senator’s phone in a different attempted sting — or Giles. But I am satisfied that The Times was wrong on this point, and I have been wrong in defending the paper’s phrasing. Editors say they are considering a correction.

First and foremost, in the course of suggesting that a public correction may be in order don’t top it with another one. There is no federal criminal charge facing O’Keefe for tampering with anyone’s phone. No phones were ever tampered with and it is only the contention of the agent handling the case that it was criminal intent and not a prank.

They dream about a Watergate Jr. scandal so bad that they have to sleep on a rubber mattress at night.

Hoyt belabors O’Keefe’s choice of attire during the ACORN sting as if the clothes he wore into their offices somehow disqualifies the criminal advice ACORN staffers gave him to help run his implied child sex trafficking business and secure fraudulent government benefits.

Acorn’s supporters appear to hope that the whole story will fall apart over the issue of what O’Keefe wore: if that was wrong, everything else must be wrong. The record does not support them. If O’Keefe did not dress as a pimp, he clearly presented himself as one: a fellow trying to set up a woman — sometimes along with under-age girls — in a house where they would work as prostitutes. In Washington, he said the prostitution was to finance his future in politics. A worker for Acorn Housing, an allied group, warned him to stay away from the brothel lest someone “get wind that you got a house and that your girlfriend is over there running a house of women of the night. You will not have a career.”

FAIR said that in Brooklyn, O’Keefe and Giles seemed to be telling Acorn staffers that “they are attempting to buy a house to protect child prostitutes from an abusive pimp.” That’s right, but FAIR left out the part about their clear intention to operate a brothel, which the Acorn workers seemed to take in stride, with one warning: “Don’t get caught, ’cause it is against the law.”

This is the problem with the Legacy Media and the leftwing blogosphere in particular. Just because you do not have the facts on your side does not mean that you get to make up your own! There is no alternative reality where something that is factually wrong is correct because you want it to be.

Go for the tortured self-examination. Stay for the comments where the reflexively ignorant and bigoted Times readers contend that their admittedly non-existent coverage has been too Pro-O’Keefe and anti-ACORN.

Oh, and just wait until the HUD sting comes out. Not that you’ll have a choice if you read the NY Times or get your news from the Big Three Networks.

The entire leftwing media complex that’s been calling you a teabagging faggot for the past year or so is suddenly incensed that one stray voice in a crowd of thousands may have called an actual faggot “a faggot”:

A CNN producer overheard the word “faggot” yelled at Frank several times in the lobby of the Longworth building. Frank said he heard someone yell “homo” at him.

So you’re saying that calling someone a “faggot” is now a slur but when you use it it’s okay because you’re using a euphemism?

If that were true and these TEA Party protests were really just an excuse for people who a hate a black president to express themselves under the guise of anti-taxes / anti-socialist takeovers that would make it acceptable as well, correct?

When John Edwards was having his well-known affair, that the press dutifully covered-up, I used to always hear that no one had any video evidence to support the charges so he was innocent until we had video and audio to support such slanderous accusations. All accusations must be witnessed, notarized and apostilled. And then The National Enquirer did.

Take Clyburn’s well publicized claim from yesterday that a “chorus” of protesters were calling him a “nigger”.

I led the first demonstrations in South Carolina, the sit ins… And quite frankly I heard some things today I have not heard since that day. I heard people saying things that I have not heard since March 15, 1960 when I was marching to try and get off the back of the bus.“

Yet now it’s Clyburn who is ordering hundreds of millions of people to the back of the bus while the government turns it’s hoses of slander in the mainstream press on protesters to accuse them of being racists and faggots. It’s tragic that we can measure how far we’ve come as a society in irony.

The real Faux News is on the Left. Here’s the video evidence of Clyburn walking by the protesters who he said were screaming nigger at him “in chorus” no less.

Expect Clyburn to hang a noose in the men’s room later today before running in front of the cameras to decry the acrid atmosphere in Washington caused by the protesters.

What that protest needs is everyone locking arms and singing “We Shall Overcome” to Mr. Clyburn.

Absent from the discussion on The Ugly Tone ™ of protests in Washington was any mention of Cindy Shitcan and Ralph Nader’s protesting of the victory in Iraq where they symbolically murdered Dick Cheney in the streets:

The protest drew a smaller crowd than the tens of thousands who marched in 2006 and 2007.

Protesters stopped at the offices of military contractor Halliburton — where they tore apart an effigy of former Vice President and Halliburton Chief Executive Dick Cheney — the Mortgage Bankers Association and The Washington Post offices.

When confronted with Obama’s continued War For Oil in Iraq, elevation of hostilities in Afghanistan, and love of killing civilians with drone attacks in Pakistan, fellow moonbats found him to have an acceptable amount of blood on his hands:

“He’s kept Guantanamo open, he’s continued to use indefinite detention,” Nader said. The only real difference, he said, is that “Obama’s speeches are better.”

Others were more conciliatory toward Obama. Shirley Allan of Silver Spring, Md., carried a sign that read, “President Obama We love you but we need to tell you! Your hands are getting bloody!! Stop it now.”

Allan thought it was going too far to call Obama a war criminal but said she is deeply disappointed that the conflicts are continuing.

“He has to know it’s unacceptable,” Allan said. “I am absolutely disappointed.”

Again, their condemnation is not so much selective as it is transparent in political convenience.

His hands are “getting bloody” from wars. If Shirley would kindly notice, his hands were already bloody from a lifetime of being wrist deep in dead babies.
